You better do, Katanagatari is a masterpiece IMO (I'd even dare to say that it's better than the Monogatari Series. They're pretty different though, so might not be best to compare them). (we might have discusses this before, but I don't remember, really) I actually got a MacBook Pro recently, so I've been trying to make some music on the shitty free Garageband (since I haven't bough a better program, which will most likely be Logic), but it's not going that well.

i felt that way too! i really liked all of hanekawa's screentime last season cause she's my favorite, but kanbaru's really freaky which is nice. and i feel like we haven't gotten a proper emotional breakdown for her yet like the other girls.

I'd personally say Katanagatari is the safest bet for you, since I know you enjoy his other work.

It's not really that bad, but let's just say that the humor was pretty hit or miss for me. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat if you want a good mahou shoujou, though (I haven't seen that many, so take my advice with a grain of salt).

Those are some of my favorites at least :^) (also wanted to recommend Princess Tutu, it's a pretty good ballet themed mahou shoujo which I consider one of them most artistically pleasing shows ever, despite the fact that it can be kind of childish at times).

Yeah, I can't wait for the second season, only less than three weeks left! With all that said, what do you want to watch? If you just want something good in general (and don't mind that it's 100+ episodes), Hunter x Hunter 2011 is a must-watch for every fan of anime IMO, even if you're not usually a shounen fan. Spice and Wolf is a really good/unique/realistic romance between a merchant and a harvesting god, with a medieval setting and a plot involving economics (the show is unfinished though, and a 3rd season will most likely never happen). If you loved the Monogatari Series (which you seem to do, based on your list) you REALLY need to check out Katanagatari, it's by the same author and has a really great plot, not to mention one of the best main couples I've ever seen (plus an epic ending that will kind of shock you at first). If you want some dumb (but self-aware) fun with great fights, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012) will be an epic and extremely manly watch (another shounen lel)

I guess that's true, it all boils down to opinion in the end (except when it comes to the Ninja Scroll anime series, that one is objectively among the worst shows ever). Don't worry, Champloo is among those shows I've been looking forward to watch for a while (mostly based on the fact that Nujabes is on the soundtrack, hngggggggggh). I only saw the first 8 episodes of Bebop before I decided to put it on hold (I found it pretty boring at first watch, but I'm going to finish it sooner or later), but I did finish Space Dandy, and man was that show fun.

So it's one of those polarizing ones, huh? That's interesting, those kind of episodes/shows/whatever are often among the most interesting ones, in my opinion (I haven't seen Samurai Champloo, so I can't comment on that comparison, hehe).

Oh, I've had a good time already, but it's nice to hear that it's continuing (there's actually a bad episode of Mushishi in season 2? That's something I want to see with my own eyes).

I actually haven't finished it yet, for various reasons (i'm on episode 20 right now). I'm trying to keep it at about two episodes a week, since I really don't feel the need to rush through an episodic show. I'm eventually going to watch the second season though, that's for sure.

Yeah, I like that one quite a lot too (the episode I was talking about is the one about the girl who had the family curse which made her unable to walk, the sort-of romantic undertones in that episode is a pretty unusual thing in the show, but man did it make me smile).

It's written by the same author that wrote (and is still currently writing) one of my favorite anime of all time (Hunter x Hunter 2011), so that's where my interest sparks from lel. I'd suggest watching that one, if you're ever interested in watching the (most likely) best of all shounen anime right away.

Jizziness, I'll remember that one, man. Either way, that sounds pretty nice, but not nice enough to break my anime schedule right now, hehe. I'm going to start watching a long old school shounen called Yu Yu Hakusho on Monday (after catching up to a show currently airing called Selector Infected WIXOSS) and Code Geass after I'm done with YYH (I don't really know much about CG, but I've seen a lot of hype surrounding it, plus it's supposed to contain a little mecha, so i'm pumped for it).

It was Level 1 and 2 adhering to the Japanese Proficiency test. I found Level 2 quite jump in difficulty but that's partly because I had forgotten things and still hadn't memorized hiragana. I think speaking the language is pretty simple once you get your head around the sentence structures and the pronunciation is normally straightforward but reading and writing it is trickier

It was a really well done jizz in the eyesockets IMO, but the reason I liked it was mostly because it actually felt like true closure, unlike the original ending. Then there's obviously other good things besides that (the OST, animation wasn't cheap, THE MINDFUCKS, great fights, orgasmic visuals etc.). I guess I just don't really care about the ''fuck you''-aspect that the writers might have intended, since the thing itself is soooooooooo good, in my opinion. Eh, you're not a asshole, but I think a 6 is a little harsh if that was the only reason for not rating it higher IMO, but hey, it's your opinion and I respect it either way :)

I could probably write a whole essay about Evangelion and it's good and bad sides, but in the end, the most important thing about the show is its influence on the anime industry, really. EoE is a 10/10 though, that's for sure.

Lawl, I kind of misswrote there, what I meant was that watching it in one go was pretty intense, but the show itself has a few intense really moments too, I guess. Overall, it was a pretty flawed, but also very loveable. The main thing I liked was probably the characters (especially Shinji, he's so real that it's depressing to watch), most of the angel fights, most of the atmosphere, the overall story and the OST (maybe not the songs in the slice of life-scenes, but damn is the rest of it good, especially that outdated J-pop intro and the epic Angel Attack-pieces). The only real issues I had were some of the animation (lip movements, still frames), a couple of cheesy scenes/episodes (like that thing with the synchronization/ dance carpet and the battle afterwards, that was pretty silly), the original ending without EoE (I understood it and why it looked that way, but I didn't really like it) and some side-characters that either felt a little undeveloped or not that needed, I guess.

About a month ago, I watched it all + EoE in two days, it was pretty intense.

Huh, I'll see if I can find any time to watch it this year, I need to expand my taste in anime more (particularly in the mecha general I've only seen NGE, TTGL and a couple of shows who either has mecha or elements of mecha).

I just finished a visual novel called Muv Luv which was incredibly wordy, so I'm not in the mood for anything like that any time soon ha. But I'll make a note of Pynchon, the Crying Lot sounds interesting. I'd love to be less shit at books so that's a start

Yeah, definitely. It's kind of fun when you found those gems though (I'm sounding like I've been following a lot of seasons in a row now, but this is actually just my third one). Also, is there really anything exciting happening in Captain Earth? I dropped the show on the first episode because I realized I needed to watch a few less anime to keep up with my school work, but it seemed decent actually.

I was talking to someone who really loved it and said it takes a lot of cues from the Through the Looking Glass novel. I haven't read it yet but it sounds like you can derive a lot of extra enjoyment from the show if you're familiar with the book

I could be reading way too much into it but I thought it was a great family drama, and I liked how the kids reacted differently to their parent's absence. I don't think the story is overly complex although it isn't told in a conventional way, which I liked
