Up until I reach half a million plays (August/September this year?) I'm also scrobbling some 'historic plays' (letting stuff run that I've played a lot in the past before I joined, but I'm not listening). Just trying to get this account as reflective of what I've listened to as possible, though yeah it'll never be close to fully accurate or anything. Just a project but three years of doing this is enough ;) After half a million plays you'll see how much I actually listen to which is still a lot but probably around nine or ten albums worth of songs daily rather the current twenty albums daily.

Can't think of too many recent albums where the emotion just translated so quickly and so deeply. Massive step up for an already good band.

Yes, Sput is still just about hanging on in there and I do visit there a few times a week now but nowhere near as much as I used to. I've seen them live twice! Once back in the day at the Reading Festival, and again more recently at a reunion tour - I think that was at KOKO in Camden. Album still holds up to some degree, they always had some chewy shoegaze and orgasmic guitar sections in the mix. Some of those plays were 'catch up plays' where I leave playlists of stuff I've listened to loads going over the evening etc - I've been on a two/three year mission to make this account more reflective of what I've listened to in my life...I'm calling time on that project at the end of this year so expect my scrobble rate to drop from then on!

Only one listen so far but highly impressed - unsure how improvised it is?

Check my list on RYM - 'band of the week'. Each week I try out or revisit an artist I haven't played too much since I started scrobbling. Andrew Bird was this week's artist - and yes, I agree, there's something holding me back from fully embracing his style. It is a bit mannered and cerebral. Only thing I would say is I don't agree with the consensus on what his best work is...I like Break it Yourself, Noble Beast and Hands of Glory. If you want to delve into his discog start with those - think they'd be more your thing too ;)

I was actually thinking about that, I did say there'd be strange inclusions in that list and sure, a 99 song album that qualifies after three listens would be one. I imagine 'Donuts' and 'Commercial Album' will both get there one day too. Loopholes! My perfect system is broken! ;D

Haha, it has been the newly discovered album I've been most obsessed with since I signed up here! Think the Bathers scrobbles have probably gone up tenfold since we started pimping them to anyone who will listen ;D

I've still only heard Kelvingrove because it's the only one that's on Spotify (though I see Sweet Deceit is on Apple Music... which I'm tempted to download for that reason alone lol)

Last week was a good week! The weakness with LastFM is you get rewarded for listening to albums with short songs - J Dilla 'Donuts', Johnny Cash 'Folsom Prison', Avalanches 'Since I Left' and Paul Buchanan 'Mid Air' all have a lot tracks over a short run time so I think that's what bumped the figures to crazy levels ;D

Hey Dewi, got the day off today...and no Sput? Means I might actually get some solid writing done on the TV script I'm supposed to be finishing...

Well I got to get some work done but it was quite a sad and lonely day without Sput, not gonna lie. How is that script coming up?

Have to work in a couple of hours so I'm going to catch some extra sleep before then - afterwards perhaps actually get some writing done, either for the folk series or for November's guide.

Are the cycles speeding up? Is it a message like in the first season of Lost?

Just got up to Thomas Feiner's version of 'This is the Day' - perfect!

It's pretty good too, the early songs I was never sure up to half way through the track...but by the end of the song they'd always won me over. I'm not sure their voices are a match made in heaven but the vibe/guitar playing just carries it all through. Still think the Vile cover 'Peepin' Tom' is the best - Courtney turns that into a bit of a classic.

I'm not feeling the reviews so much right now, go for it. I've got the day off today but working on this TV script idea thats taking up a stupid amount of my time rather than a review. I do want to hit 100 reviews at some point but I'm not in a rush, I think in terms of Sput staff I have been cast out from the fold a bit, my last lists and reviews didn't even get featured :D

Fripp it's not a major issue for me, the people I chat with the most on the site tend to read/check in with my reviews so that's all that matters really. If something gets featured that's a happy bonus...unless it's a 0.5 Beck review, then it's a headache xD

For sure, it hurts when I listen to something in a medium that doesn't scrobble here ;)
