Doctor T, Smooth Jazz is always my first choice no matter what .... On this site I have found so much Music ...... I have decided to go to the back of my Library and pick an Artist that I have not listened to .... I am listening to a group called the South Froggies - it's a Jazz group .... That's how I like to pick out Music - I want to listen to what I want ..... For as long as I want - but LAST.FM is set up to be more social with other listeners ..... And I like that .... but lucinda's cover for "here in california" is a track included in that tribute album you recommended to me. // i believe you saw a snipet of nanci griffith's concert in which she played basically every song from her 1993 album (other voices, other rooms). the whole concert is terrific (and it's available in its entirety on youtube), so is the record. emmylou harris sings harmony for the album version of "across the great divide" as well (but i don't know about nina gerber).

i will. i'm afraid i'm just waiting for it to pop up on the web (or i'll just grab a copy on ebay - i have the bizarre problem of NOT receiving products i bought on amazon/ebay. the last thing that i'm still expecting to arrive 7 weeks later is lucinda's official t-shirt for the essence tour). i've heard lucinda cover for 'here in california', it's on that album (and, of course, "across the great divide", by nanci griffith, on her "other voices, other rooms" record -- listen to it, it's a masterpiece!). it's staggeringly beautiful. it was this cover that introduced me to kate, by the way. i've listen to two anthology albuns (weaver of visions & gold in california) and "close to you" - and last week i saw "an evening in austin", her 1985 performance on austin city limits. that concert moved me, to say the least.

oh, yes, definitely. sorry if i gave the impression i was upset by my score. i really don't mind. as if i would stop listening to lucinda williams just for it to go up a few notches. kate wolf is really wonderful, isn't she?
