I teach 9th and 10th grade, so the lower class in high school. So more around the age of 15-17, or somewhere in there. Your job definitely sounds interesting. At least you got to travel and see another country, that's always fun.

Working in Mali sounds very interesting. What did you do there, if you don't mind me asking? I guess not much has changed for me this year, still teaching high school.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm doing okay, how about you? It feels like it's been ages since we've chatted.

I pretty much agree with what the guy was saying. I would have been interested to see more Scripture references, though. I particularly think that he was very right when he said that Jesus is our LORD, or boss. Enough people don't understand this (they think that salvation is simply to get out of hell, and nothing more). We're in a spiritual battle against the forces of evil and Jesus is our commander. I think that he needed to explain the concept of grace better, though. From what I understand, he was trying to say that you only experience God's grace whenever you submit to the will of God. The last verse he quoted kind of goes against this, because God has given grace to those who are sinners. The other point I'd like to make is that often when a person is doing God's will, that is when he or she experiences the most persecution. It's hard to argue that people deeply rooted in God's will always experience grace. I guess those are just my thoughts on it. What do you think?

Yeah, we'll see where it goes. Hopefully he's innocent, but from everything that I've read and whatnot it doesn't appear to be so. The last article I read had him and his attorney blaming the whole thing on steroid use or something like that. Supposedly, they caught him in the first place because he tried hiring a hitman that was actually an undercover cop. It's hard to refute evidence like that. But still he's innocent until proven guilty!

Things are going well, thanks! How about you? The whole Lambesis situation is very sad, and I hope that all of it isn't true. But either way, the damage has been done to Christian metal. It's very unfortunate.

*sent*. I enjoy studying different religious and philosophical standpoints, though as far as religion goes I'm certainly agnostic, but researching stuff is kind of immersive and rewarding. That was Abraxas' sigil, a sumerian god and gnostic deity; it represents a conglomeration of opposites, a fundamental balance between good and evil. It's similar to Baphomet, only that the latter holds negative connotations while Abraxas is 'purer' due to his 'obscurity'. It's not as well known as, say, Ra or God or Brahma, but it is said that Abraxas was one of the first religious 'symbols' to appear. Intriguing stuff, he also represents life, much like the egyptian 'Ankh' ^~^.

I get your point on science, but I think I meant it in another way. I mean studying and understanding the incredibly complex world that God has created for us. I believe God's word as literal truth and don't recognize evolution as a process that actually happened. This puts me in an awkward position when writing scifi, but oftentimes I will work around it or even attack it. I think that understanding how things work is also important to Christianity. Creation is important. To me, the incredible complexity of life is a sign of God's handiwork, not the eventual and doubtful toil of billions of years.

Oh lol. Some programs require a thesis paper or research, it all depends. My bachelor degree doesn't unless I want to graduate with high honors. Still, all those other authors that I mentioned are ones that I have written papers on. For every English class I would say I usually write 2-3 papers. If you're doing Masters or P.h.D. programs, then yes, you always have to do a dissertation of some sort.
