Yeah that is definitely a sweet ass album. Out of curiosity, where are you from? And do decent gigs ever come around there?

Yeah! Those two are rad as well. Boards of Canada I have known for a while, and The Field not as long, although I have their 'Yesterday and Today' album. You have really nice taste, though!

Gui Boratto is your snowy backyard at 4 in the morning. Gui Boratto is what you hear when you walk around downtown alone. Gui Boratto is .. well, I love minimal but sometimes it can make me zone out too much, so 'take my breath away' album, is just right, bassy and mellow sweet. you probably have seen me overplay 'no turning back.' http://www.box.net/shared/ey0q6psz54 if you are that curious. also, hello!

COIL is so much more industrial though! I've never really been able to get into that sort of thing. Tibet is a wild, wild man though. He's done some incredible stuff in a variety of mediums. When the new semester begins, we must discuss more audio-related things. Do you have a radio show? If not, would you possibly be interested in starting one?

Yeah it's a (really good, surprise!) remastering of '77 live or '72 live... can't remember. All bootleg, of course. HEALTH = noisedisco? I don't even know haha. They were great when I saw them at 7th st in september. Pictureplane (also great) opened. About 30minutes in it was just a really weird dance party. Being someplace like that makes one wish they went to more shows. And no, I barely know Low. I was actually introduced to them by the minister at the Mac Plymouth church who happens to be a family friend. Small world. That said, I really like what I've heard, and should get more. He's gotten me into a lot of that sorta 80s and 90s aesthetic. Speaking of which, have you heard of Current 93? They seem like a group you'd dig.

Well... It's less that I don't respect the O))) than that I simply can't listen to the O))) unless the environment is right. The same goes for so many slow-paced video installations and other modern artwork. It's for the same reason that I have a hard time getting into Merzbow, though his collabs with Boris are good. I saw O))) was on the p4k top 50 albums of the year. They actually played the Varsity on the 4th this year. I was thinking about seeing them, as I hear it's one of those things you just have to see live haha. Are you perhaps into HEALTH, if we're talking un-metal (organic?) noise? Make sure to grab Heavier than a Death in the Family. It's one of the best recordings available.

I guess mostly just Sun O))) and that sorta thing. And yeah, pretty much everything you've listed is inspired in large amounts by Les Rallizes Denudes. It's unfortunate that so much of their stuff is so difficult to find/bootleg. I got most of it from private trackers, but even the seeds on there are shoddy. If you're interested and can't find any of their stuff, I can always transfer? yeah.

The 2-disc thing seems kinda gimmicky, but whatever. Boris is awesome anyway. They were really the only drone I've been able to get into. That whole southern lord thing... ehh Are you into any other weird japanese stuff? Judging by other stuff you're into, you might like Keiji Haino and (more awesomely) Les Rallizes Denudes. They've got quite a history if you're into that at all.

That very well may be true. I've only been into Liars since I really got into noisier, grittier, more experimental stuff a year or so ago, though, so I associate them with that sort of aesthetic (almost like stuff coming out of the smell in LA), whether or not that's a legitimate association. I think once I give their other albums more than a run through or two, it'll be easier to come to that sort of a conclusion. Still, their self titled is their best work, hands down. Boris; have you heard DRONEVIL? We seem to like a lot of the same weird stuff hahah

and yeah there are a few gems from drum's not dead... it just seemed to stray from the lofi noise-synth aesthetic they'd cultivated over the past few albums...

Also, have you seen times new viking live? so much better. I randomly saw them this summer for free at an 89.3 event in loring park

oh yes, QC is the only one I'm dedicated to. I make myself wait a few months to read it and then read about a hundred at once because I hate only getting one per day, it's like being forced to read a book one page at a time. torture, seriously.

I don't think I remember meeting you but I was probably pretty drunk at the time. Was it the party at Zac and Aaron's house? What is your last name?
