ha, fellow la dispute fan here who also likes ichiko aoba. i've heard her shows are really good- i'm the one who's going to that philly show and i'm really excited for both the show and her new record. i just heard la dispute for the first time last week and this has been such an experience. wildlife is probably one of the best records i've ever heard. anyway, cool little artist overlap here!

Nice! Been a fan of Ichiko's for a handful of years now. I don't have tickets quite yet, May is super busy and not sure if I can swing it at the moment, but hoping to make it! I actually found out about the show because of the opener Hayden Pedigo, a fantastic guitarist, absolutely check him out if you've not before! And welcome to La Dispute! Been my favorite artist for the last 6-7 years? Rooms of the House is still my favorite album ever made, but I absolutely recommend everything within their discography from the main albums to their various side projects under the LD name. Have fun digging into the symbolism and themes that cross over between albums, Jordan's lyricism and storytelling is unmatched, at least imo, haha. Just a wonderful group of artists overall and happy to see them continue to pull in new fans!

Crossing all my fingers as well for some new stuff, especially with this little taste today. I fell completely in love with Bust Apart a few years ago and my avatar used to be the album cover for Undersea for a while. I do not know why I do this sometimes with artists - but I couldn't bring myself to listen to anything else by them after loving Bust Apart SO much. Should I listen to more from them? Touché Amore is solid as well, but I never gave them my full attention like La Dispute. I should do a full dive into their discography probably. Fiddlehead is something I haven't heard though and I will definitely give them a try. Thanks for the rec! Btw - have you heard the track by Mouse on the Keys that features Jordan? It's called Shapeless Man on their album Tres. It's actually where I first heard Jordan and thought "My god... I need more of this. What is La Dispute?"

Burst Apart is wonderful, absolute gem of an album. I got into them because of Hospice, but stayed when I realized how much I loved the other albums, both the solo albums and the latter albums with the rest of the band. I actually find myself returning the most to their 2014 album Familiars. That tone of that album is so comforting, at least for me. I love Touche Amore (I admittedly liked them more than LD in high school), Jeremy's lyrics are wonderful, though I'm not as into their more recent albums as much, Is Survived By has proven to be my favorite of theirs, though it's probably their most overlooked. I also recently did a deep dive on them! No regrets. Fiddlehead is a wonderful project, a bit of a supergroup. They don't tour much since Pat Flynn, their vocalist, is a history teacher, but their albums are always great. And I love Mouse on the Keys both with and without Jordan! I saw they're opening for the Japanese tour and I'm only a little jealous.

Alright, friend.. you shot my afternoon in the foot and now I've got a playlist built with all these albums. I'll trust you that these other Antlers albums are worth straying from Bust Apart. I'm sure I will not be disappointed and will find that I had nothing to fear in the first place. I think the little bit I've listened to TA I missed Is Survived By so I'm very curious to explore it. Also I love love love that Fiddlehead's vocalist is a history teacher. History has always been one of my favorite subjects both in school and well after so I've already got some love for them before ever hearing their music haha. And now I'M jealous too. Damn you Japan!

My favorite band will probably always be La Dispute, if that's not too obvious. Not everyone's cup of tea, but if you like lyric heavy concept albums, might be up your alley. You've listened to a lot of their contemporaries, so maybe! I also appreciate seeing the Sheryl Lee pic!
