My mini diary here, album review edition. Everyone's raving about the new Arcade Fire release recently, so I'm giving it a spin right now. I've never been a huge fan of theirs, and here's the thing: AF is way too booooooring and I can already tell that Reflektor won't be a wake up call for me. At least it makes some background noise while I'm browsing around Personality Cafe. For instance 'Normal Person' sounds like an INFP/INFJ anthem for that matter. :)

Well that's what neighbors are for =). Haha, jk, I do that for myself primarily, because I hate seeing blank covers of any artist in my library. It's beyond ugly. It is, as you say it, incomplete, and feels rather sloppy. I always try to find some cover (preferably from an official release) to upload here. This time though (as this album is just a bootleg, not an official release of any kind), I just found one nice picture of Damien from that concert via google images and cropped it to quadratic format so it looks legit. But yeah, you're welcome :)

Oh, it's gorgeous. The first scrobbles came from the CD. I copied it to my machine in FLAC so it's now scrobbling that. I got the vinyl which I played first. That, of course, didn't scrobble! I posted on the FB page too and to Hazel and told my friends of the album's wonder too. Lanterns zealot! Now I have to somehow decide which song to remix.

I'm the Ox in Chinese astrology and the Taurus in Western zodiac so I guess there is no getting around the fact that I'm the bull. :) I have a twin brother so horoscopes and zodiacal personalities always felt a little inaccurate because although he and I are quite similar, we aren't exactly the same so all the traits couldn't apply to both of us. I guess that is why I always liked the enneagram. I'm a Type 5 with a 4 wing. He is the opposite. There is a Celtic zodiac as well, based on Trees. You might be interested in checking that out too. I read Quiet last year. It's pretty good. I always heard INFJ was the rarest type, too. But I seem to come across a lot of them. I think highly introverted people are more likely to care about things like personality tests in general. We enjoy looking inward and figuring things out like that---not only with ourselves but with others. (And yes! Now I'm hearing Feist in that Basia song too! I've been listening to MS MR a lot lately too and it reminds me other another artist but I can't think of who...)

Yes! I'm really loving both albums. I like how Tall Tall Shadow is still folk but also pulling more of a pop/rock/band feel. And I like how Agnes Obel is using her voice more as an instrument in the new album. Still has that mellow hum that the first album has but I noticed it standing out more in this new album.

:) Yep, I'm in a very "rock" vein right now as you can see. (I have always been a massive Led Zep fan) I do intend to listen to her new LP again and other stuff. My favourite song of hers so far is, without a doubt, "Mary" which just breaks my heart every time. "Peter Pan" is second favourite.

I thought I should keep a diary in this very shoutbox. Last night must have been the night of weird dreams. From Twitter I've learned that Neko dreamt about a homesick octopus. I dreamt that The National performed 'I Should Live In Salt' on my grandparents' rooftop. It felt so real, I only wish I could go back. Oh, I love Alela Diane! “Pirate’s Gospel” is her first album and one that most people probably wouldn’t like---it’s her earlier, quirkier, less polished work. Not everyone will like the whistling and Yo-Ho-Ho-ing. I love “To Be Still” and think it’s a great album, approachable but still unique. The third album “Alela Diane and Wild Divine” is just that: Alela Diane AND Wild Divine. It has a strong “band” feel to it. I think her husband was part of Wild Divine and their marriage broke up so the newest album feels like a personal return to her roots as a folky-nature-themed-singer-songwriter but more matured and polished than her earlier work. It’s great to see how she has grown vocally and lyrically. She did vocals on an album of covers called “Silence of Love” under the name Headless Heroes. It’s sooo good! Thanks for letting me know about Agnes Obel. So many of my favorite artists are coming out with new albums soon!

Glad to help. I know what you mean about different accounts. I'm using Deezer quite heavily for now because I'm getting unlimited streaming for the first year. I thought I'd take advantage of it! It's not bad but, as with every service it seems, there's plenty of stuff missing and I've noticed a very annoying little quirk. It doesn't scrobble the character "&" at all.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm on Spotify now! The last time I looked into signing up I don't think they had an in-browser web player and I didn't feel like downloading the software. Streaming music on the web (or watching videos) is a nightmare for me---I have very, very slow internet. :( And I did not know about the Matthew Good single. To be honest, I haven't cared for much of anything he put out after "Hospital Music." But I will always check his new stuff out, just in case.
