I listened to Parasignosis before I saw your post. :P I really liked it. Alot of memorable riffs and the suffocating atmosphere is always a plus. Although the album does sounds abit too professional like you said. I'll listen to Archaeaeon later tonight.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it as well! Yeah I'll admit that I was kinda hoping for a little bit meatier production after Antithesis...but at least it's pretty clear so I'm not really complaining. Saligia is definitely a highlight of the album for me as well, Origin are pretty pro at making those epic-as-hell, long(er) songs! I'm still not quite sure how I'd rank it in comparison to Antithesis but I'm tempted to agree with you that it's maybe not quite as strong. I think Antithesis might have had a few more memorable moments/riffs.

Yeah. Probably happened after the two concerts in May :p I still love AC/DC, but I can only listen to their stuff so many times because it sounds so similar. Plus PJ has actual meaningful lyrics haha. But if I ever need to just jam, it's AC/DC.

Yeah my mom was actually telling me that she read an article saying how apparently a lot of the top colleges are accepting fewer people this year or something. And yeah unfortunately I just have "good" grades, but nothing outstanding in my opinion, so if stakes are higher this year then I didn't have a chance, haha. But jesus! Only 4 spots?! That's crazy! But oh nice dude, congrats on that! So when you visit it, if it looks good, is that a likely choice of yours with the scholarship and all? But oh yes, Effigy is a classic for sure! Honestly, I can't really answer your question without bias, as I'm a huge Suffocation fan and would answer with "All of their albums of course!" But the next one I'd get after Effigy is...either Pierced From Within or Close Of A Chapter. Close of a Chapter is a live CD, but it sorta functions as a 'Best Of' and the crowd interactions between songs are pretty funny.

At this point it's looking like I'm going to Texas Tech though. Hah, I got a letter from Harvard saying they regret to inform me that they will not be able to have me in the class of 2014. Oh well. But hell yeah, Suffocation was awesome live! I think I may start trying to get into the local live scene more now because of that show. That sucks about the live scene where you live though, hopefully mine doesn't turn out to be like that too, haha. But you only have Blood Oath by them? Oh hell yeah man you need to get their other material! Get some Effigy of the Forgotten going on! ;)

Grr, sorry about the slow response again, life has been pretty busy lately. But oh you've been looking at law? Well I guess that makes sense with some of the subjects that you're interested in. You're right though, all of these decisions have pros and cons so it's tough to weigh them (like with CompSci, you mentioned that it's math-heavy, but also has room for creativity). But I'm definitely with you there about the cubicle thing! Haha I want a career that I can remain interested in and that won't get stale. While preferably making a good salary. :P Ya I'm not going to lie though, some of those schools are kind of a pipe dream thing for me (well, Harvard at least, haha) but I still applied since they contacted me first, so we'll see what happens. Cool thing is I got accepted to Texas Tech already (which I'm kind of liking the most at this point), so now I need to see if they'll give me any scholarships. Good to finish all the applications though!

Personally I would start with "Fire In our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw" then move to "Australasia" which is my favorite. If you like those two albums I could recommend a handful of other metal similar to their style.

juggz calls me out for stating my opinion as fact, and tries to show that i am doing so when i sopposedly do. but then he turns around and bashes other people's taste and says why he thinks something else is so good. ya know in the metal union, for the thrash wars, they would keep the ones with megadeth open for like months waiting for someone else to beat megadeth, and when someone would vote megs he would get mad. he has the worst taste too. crossover thrash? really some terrible shit. but he really is two faced. you like what he does, you have great taste, you bash what he likes, he calls you out, you disagree with him, he bashes you. the worst thing is he does not even realize it. honestly half of the things i say on Gspot are just to piss people off. i create conflict for the sake of conflict, its how i have my fun. a thread where everyone agrees is boring :P i h ave nothing against juggz personally tho, i like our arguments.

i just hope this time around juggz does not quote me and say " hi nimatoad" but i really should have been banned a long time ago if the mods were not retarded. i made blog posts saying that id give invites to what.cd to the people i was friends with .. i mean.. come on. the only mod i dont think is a complete asshole is gabu, i actually quite liked gabu.

Yep, as we both figured, I did indeed like Anata! :D You're right, they're not in the same vein as Spawn or Necrophagist but that's not a problem at all. But wow nice choices for colleges, man! I was actually thinking of going into computer science also (when I was heavy into video games), but as my interest in games started to dwindle I realized it wasn't for me. Right now I'm looking at the medical field, but now I'm starting to have doubts about that too so I'm thinking I'll just go for like a major in Biology and hope that things become clearer to me during college. :P Haha. Well right now I've applied to Harvard, University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Tech and University of New Mexico (which is where I live, it's more of a back up than anything). May apply to NM State also. But ya these college applications are annoying as hell, especially since it's this time of year!
