Didn't actually; combination of tests and nobody to head down with at the time. There was certainly glowing reports from the Steffi gig that's for sure - saw a video or two and a post from the lady herself about it. Next one for me is most likely the Ben UFO one the day after the end of the exams. That Omar-S release really is something isn't it? Constantly playing a few tracks from it lately, especially 'The Shit Baby' and the title track. New Wania out on Hardwax at the minute, along with some releases on Acido which you might dig, including a V/A EP thing and a release from Tase.

Worth just clearing out the Relative and Appointment collages to be honest; the Vinalog and John Swing releases are fantastic, though the latter are moreso neat little DJ tools. Yeah, I'd heard good things about the old WHP venue, when I'd just arrived at the new one TNGHT were on in Room 1 so I immediately just booked it over to the smaller rooms and stayed there. Would love to see Dettmann live, I think I'll line it up that if I go to Berghain it'll probably be an Ostgut night or some festival type thing like CTM. I could imagine that Dimensions would be sold out in a month or so; if it isn't then I might be able to make it over when I'm finally bringing some money in. Looking forward to diving into that The Knife album, but for now I'm trying out the new Opal Tapes releases.

Oh fuck yeah anything John Swing/Relative/Appointment is quality. Too many streams popping up with the Madteo one for Field, this NTS show and the RA podcast. Totally agreed on all that Digweed/Sasha stuff, just not my bag whatsoever. That reminds me, Levon Vincent played Fabric recently and I bloody missed him last year in Belfast too; one of my absolute favourite house producers at the minute. I was at the WHP for a little bit on the same night as the Radiohead gig in Manchester, though I only caught bits since I arrived late and the place was completely packed. Yeah, slsk and what are about the only places to get quality vinyl stuff; I'm dMrLazy on there - my profile picture was a dead giveaway I guess anyway.

Yeah, weekends will be damn well worth the wait in London that's for sure. L.I.E.S. folk are doing a show on NTS right now if you tune in. Haha, I think you're only missing Sasha in Stiff which I would imagine would probably drive me to alcohol personally, just don't dig trance or prog house stuff at all to be honest. Aye, main reason as to why I didn't head to Boddika was that I wasn't really into the latest NonPlus stuff as much to be honest. I'm not that huge on Perc's label either to be honest outside of a few releases like the Bas Mooy EP from last year, though I'm sure he'd just pick and choose from a lot of current techno labels. I'm sure you're still not getting nearly as many gigs since Manchester's unbelievable for electronic music gigs; I'm heading to London in the summer for placement since I'm at Queen's at the minute so I'll be spending a lot of money on gigs over there for sure. I'd noticed that there were quite a few acts heading to a festival in Limerick for St. Patrick's Day, looks like it would've been fairly good.

Surgeon's playing in Stiff Kitten with Skirt (I assume that's the Horizontal Ground/Semantica artist), bit of a better system than Voodoo anyway I guess. How was the Boddika set? I was completely undecided as to which one I was heading to and didn't bother heading out at all that night, though from the response it seemed that Perc put on a pretty good show. If you find out about the next one then give me a shout, I've only really noticed a techno scene emerging around these parts with the DSNT shows to be honest. Shame that by that point I'd missed the Truss show.

Container's more my cup of tea because it's less ambient, more pulsing techno. Their new one on Morphine sounds great too, as does the Morphosis record which came out just before it. That Measure2Measure track sounded great when Kyle Hall played it at the Funkinevil Boiler Room set, and I've heard another tune played on rinse.fm by Ben I think, so I'm pretty excited about the release. Yeah, the whole Trade release on Sheworks and the fact that he's playing quite a bit of Blawan out (if you check his blogspot out he plays quite a bit of Hemlock stuff too) doesn't really appeal to me as much as his old stuff, but he seems to get a really good vibe going. I usually end up spending too much on records so don't have much money to head out so I have to be a bit picky. Nah, never been to any of those Catalyst nights, is it mainly current electronic stuff or what?

Yeah, seems like a really genuine guy with a knack for picking out some cracking tunes which aren't as widely known. Love the Frak guys too, got a couple of Borft records stashed away; their early analog acid work is killer, good to see them getting some spotlight recently. Not big on Bicep's sound though they'd play some alright house tracks in a DJ set I'm sure, and Terje's music is infectious as hell. The Miles record is really consistent throughout, though the third track's a standout. Demdike's other release on Modern Love, 'Testpressing #001' is excellent too, especially the b-side. The JK Flesh & Prurient release earlier in the year is awesome too; great mess of noisy drum n bass type stuff in the first half of it, and the Omar-S album which just dropped is real nice too. Oh aye and DSNT is putting on some really nice gigs in Belfast at the minute, I see he's got Surgeon booked in May - will more than likely go to that.

They're repressing it I think, so you'll get your hands on it within the next few months I'm sure. Nice Opal Tapes releases in your collection there too. Haven't actually seen Ben DJing live yet, so I'm looking forward to it; passed up on the Terje/Bicep gig since I didn't really have the money for it to be honest.
