I like intense tech death but also stuff like Necrophagist, but when it's all sweeps and constant blasting with no song structure then i agree with you that it's kinda shit :/ I love Nile because they're epic sounding and brutal, but if you listen properly you can hear that it's very technical, especially the amazing drumming!

I get what you're saying about Brain Drill though, for the first song or so its like 'woo this is intense', but then it gets boring and repetitive, same with Beneath the Massacre. Origin are a bit better though, and the Faceless are far better at the tech death thing!

I used to like deathcore, but then i discovered real death metal properly :P Theres some deathcore bands i still like, like Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, Annotations of an Autopsy and Carnifex, cos they were the first ones i discovered and they're all quite catchy and different to the usual. Annotations's last album was pretty good, more death metal than deathcore, same with Carnifex's latest, although if you dont like deathcore you probably wont like them :P Ah man i love Trigger the Bloodshed, i never thought they had much deathcore influence tbh... I've never had a problem with the triggers, but do you like Ingested? Fuck me their drums are triggered so fucking much! xD Wow, that must've been an awesome gig! You talk to them on facebook? Awesome, i kinda talk to Human Rejection on their facebook statuses and they seem nice too :) It does help when a band are nice people! Nile are so good cos they're intense and technical but also have good songwriting and are unique and original :D

I like Defeated Sanity, they're pretty good :) I dunno, it's not the production really, i just dont find it catchy, the beginning of Babykiller is awesome but then it gets boring :/ I like Behemoth, i've listened to Immortal a little bit and they seem quite good, Dark Funeral i'll check out, Gorgoroth are pretty ok and Mayhem... I dont like the vocals, i listened to De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas and i didnt find it enjoyable :P Nu metal is fun, Limp Bizkit are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, whilst i used to love Linkin Park but only really like 2 songs now - Faint and Points of Authority. I find them boring now, there's no energy in it and it's so sterile... I love Death, but i think Symbolic is my favourite album by them, although Human is also excellent! :D

I've not listened to much Deftones, although they seem better than most nu-metal (although i'll always have a soft spot for Korn, i do love them). My favourite genre is probably technical death metal or old school, cos theres some tech death bands that i love to pieces like Nile and Trigger the Bloodshed (best new band i've heard for ages) and Decapitated, but theres also some shit ones whilst theres so many great old school death metal bands like Death and Obituary etc but i'd only really count Death and Master as some of my favourite bands. Most modern death metal is deathcore and is shit (used to really like deathcore, dont anymore), but there are some really good ones like Trigger the Bloodshed, Ignominious Incarceration and Fleshgod Apocalypse :) Wow, from your Last.fm i really wouldnt guess that, but Cynic are indeed very good :D

I download most of the brutal death stuff that i listen to cos i wont listen to it much compared to other genres, although i do have a few CDs like Guttural Secrete and Abominable Putridity. Devourment are a band that i've been trying to get into recently, i bought their Unleash the Carnivore CD off Brutal Bands cos it looked good, but it's kinda boring so im checking out their old stuff and... yeah i dunno, cant get into it really :/ My taste changes quite often, sometimes i'll really want to listen to some nu metal for some fun, but then the next day i'll be back to listening to technical death metal :P The only black metal bands that i really love are Beherit and Celtic Frost, although i suppose if i listened to other BM bands more i'd grow to like them, it's not supposed to be easy listening xD

Prelude was so much better! haha. Psalms had the worst songwriting ever. Nothing made sense. The production was awful, and the vocalist was more monotonous then Vlad. haha. Prelude was just awesome!

That's just it, haha. Slam was never really a subgenre. It was all part of Brutal Death metal, just a style of riffage and breakdowns that erupted in the early 90's. Only in the last few years can we really say TRUE slam bands have emerged, such as Gorevent and Cephalotripsy. :P

Well, that's just it though haha. I hate arguing over this because I know so many people accept them as slam! haha. They are much much closer to slam then Disgorge is. Hell, that intro, Introitus, is just one huge slam breakdown :P.

Haha wow! Defeated Sanity are widely considered slam! :P. They might be technical, and fast, but when they slow down, they slow the fuck down and get really slammy.

I find Cephalotripsy nothing like Condemned beyond the vocals. The production is much better on their album, the slams are better, and theres none of that gay ass calislam tech. :P

Oh, I still love slam. It's just not exactly my favourite genre at this moment, as it's become so boring to me, beyond a few bands like Short Bus Pile Up, Cerebral Effusion, Defeated Sanity, Disgorge, Devourment, and Cenotaph. To be completely honest I also think that the new AP will be better then the debut. Big C's vocals have improved quite a bit from the last time I've heard him, and I'm sure they won't streamline their sound at all.

I've tried. Just something about the production instantly turns me off. The guitar sound is so weak to me. I donnou. haha. I also don't like Condemned or Cerebral Incubation much at all. Or Kraanium for that matter. And AP got boring after a year of listening to it, haha.

Fuck Gorgasm! haha. I never really enjoyed them.
