also not to say that you are wrong, but my first listen was also kinda middling at best. only the singles really stood out to me because was already familiar with them but after repeated listens those few became the highlights for me. overall happy with it myself, even if it's not perfect. if you ever want to come back to it, those would be the first songs i'd recommend

Maybe I'll relisten, I'm just mad cus i know they have the potential to do so much better (e.g their first 4 albums, I'm a showbiz truther) that listening to any muse project other than those 4 just feels like a waste of time to me idk

yeah that's fair enough. also wanna hold them to a higher standard but they aren't really forced to be 'good' (especially when it comes to themes of love and breakups, which this new album was about too) and oftentimes when people ask them to 'recreate' the sound they had before, the reaction is always like 'wtf not like this' or 'this would've been the worst b-side' and it's like... idk how to feel about it really. other albums do have value in them i think personally, though obviously not consistently. will of the people and simulation theory are some of the worst albums i've heard though. but then again, expecting a middle aged man to try to be how he was when he was pretty much a teenager will probably end in disappointment so idk

maybe.. but you would never know whether they are good or bad without giving them a listen, would you? 🤔

cheers bro, i think i've discovered so much more good stuff on youtube music than on spotify so it's definitely a great change. i guess the only downside is that there's no effective way to have discord rich presence (if you care about that) and that everyone's still using spotify. but this change genuinely made me enjoy music 10x more, it's great (also jolly holidays vro hope you're having a great time)
