Hello Nina, I hope everything is good with you. Have you seen Megan’s performance @ BET music awards? There’s this one choreographed dancer that always shines through on her videos; she’s lighter hue. I listened to part of her newest album and I’ll finish listening to it soon. What are your thoughts about the album?😄🎶

I have! Megan has such a great energy when she performs, I saw her last month in concert and it was so awesome. Tbh I rarely look at the background dancers haha, I get fixated on Megan. Honestly as a a longtime Megan fan, I feel like this has both some of her strongest work and her weakest. Maybe I need to give it more time but it's definitely not claiming the spot as my favorite album of hers. B.A.S is my absolute favorite song from it, though!

Unfortunately, this is the second single Rico's released recently that felt like she's trying to appeal to people who liked Smack A Bitch. It's not bad, but it definitely is one of those tracks that you've seen and heard done before but better. It's better than Beat My Face, but so far I'm not feeling Turn It Up too much.

The Grammy's happened already?!? Wtf. I'm gonna have to look up the highlights. Lizzo always gives captivating live performances, so I can't wait to see it. And I've grown to love SZA sooo much, can't wait for her to sweep the Grammy's in 2024 because SOS is THAT album. Also, I quickly looked up the winner for album of the year and.... what the fuck. Renaissance deserved it! They need to stop being so damn disrespectful to Beyoncé and give her the Grammy for album of the year! No offense to Harry Styles but he's boring and his output over the past year was mediocre. SMH but I'm happy that Beyoncé keeps breaking records! Her music has always been transcendental in my life and as an artist she's phenomenal. Looking at Beyoncé's work ethic and output puts a lot of people in the dust, tbh. Simply stunning.

The first minute is literally me at parties lmaooo. I love the kind of grunge look she's got going on, and the choreography got a few laughs out of me, but a misfit party isn't exactly what I was hoping for. especially since she could have ran with something more Halloween, but it's the best video of this era, and that group pose at the end is pure renaissance art lol. SZA is an interesting artist to me bc her vocals are hella unique and imo take time to warm up to. She's hella gorgeous though! and I wasn't expecting murder in the first minute lmao, and then the damn nuns. It's a very atmospheric song, though, and I def need to return to it to see if it sticks with me.

I haven’t had the chance to see her episode yet, but I’ve seen clips of her performances. I don’t know where to actually watch the episode 😅. Although her performance of Anxiety was too damn much for me when she started tearing up when she got to the line about her mother. Because same girl, same. Megan is really fucking funny and from what I saw of the nurse skit, she definitely killed both hosting, acting, and being the performer!

Hi! I just checked out Rina's Hold The Girl album and it's a complete album. It covers several topics. It reminds me of her previous work and it also sounds like she's matured. The album is good overall. The mv for 'Hurricanes' is nice. It has a rock feel, and the lyrics are nice!

I always tell my friends that I could truly write essays on some of my most loved albums. Rina's debut album is the poster child for that. This album also manages to be that and much more. This has been a very hard year for me. Absolute shit. The singles to this album came exactly when I needed them, and I should have predicted that this album would have been something to hit me at the core. Somehow my favorite songs on the albums aren't even the singles. Holy (Til You Let Me Go) hits at one of the aspects of my childhood that I've been reevaluating this year: religion. Imagining is a picture perfect capture of how erratic I've felt adjusting to all the back to back shit. Frankenstein is such a great augmentation of messages of the album. /I'm trying to be normal, but trauma is immortal/ She really has grown tremendously since her debut, and I truly feel like the musical results of her journey has helped me with my own.

I was really impressed with the visuals! Every time Megan releases a music video it manages to elevate in quality. I love how the funeral ‘interlude’ of the video signifies Megan’s rebirth. She’s been through a lot of shit that’s been under public scrutiny over the past couple of years so it’s amazing to incorporate a theme of rising from the ashes of what’s been torn apart. The video is not what I would have thought for the song admittedly, but I really do enjoy the result.

The run from NDA to Ms. Nasty is amazing! It's such a strong body of work from Megan, and already I believe it's my favorite project from her. My favorites are NDA, Her, Scary, Anxiety, Consistency, and Plan B. Scary isn't exactly what I wanted from a Megan and Rico collab (I really wanted something angry and aggressive) but they sound so damn good together that I love it. This definitely her most nuanced album. I think I might be more attached to this album sheerly cause I get a lot of the pain she has, especially in regards to her mother. This is a fake ass world lol and it's only getting worse, so not having one of your major pillars of support hurts. I love the emotional tone of the album as it goes on. The first four tracks have most of the anger, then segues from that anger into something a bit more assured, slowing down until reaches the actual pain in the core of the album. Tracks 15 to 18 feel more like a victory lap, though. In other words, it's a great album.

The opening shot had me shocked, let me just say, just by the sheer movie quality of it. Also love how she just... 'falls' off the roof. It feels like it could easily be made into a short silent film that would be absolutely fantastic. I wonder what her inspirations where? It's not what I would have expected for the song, but it's some excellent storytelling on it's own.

So, what do you think of Beyoncé’s Summer Renaissance? It’s a really good album! “Virgo’s Groove” and “All Up In Your Mind” are growing on me. What are your favorite tracks? Also, what do you think of Rina’s “Hold The Girl”? Rina really does some self-reflection with the lyrics. It’s a nice song!

Alien Superstar and Pure/Honey are my favorites! This album is pure breezy fun, I love it. Beyoncé absolutely does not give a shit and I'm here for it. I wouldn't have expected the sounds and vibes that she has on this project, but I'm eating it up. And Rina is trying to gut me before her album is released I see. All three of the singles she's released has been instant emotional hits for me. Hold The Girl has a Lady Gaga energy that I love, which makes it nostalgic on top of everything else. Making me feel for my younger self while feeling like my younger self. /Sometimes, I just wanna run away Leave behind that old me, start again Then I remember who l'm really made of And she's been hide-and-seeking, waiting all along/

I think that might be one of the reasons I'm not feeling it, apart from Future being on the track. The beat is cold but it's not something I'd return to. Like, it's not better than Sweetest Pie. Definitely not better than Plan B. It does feel like classic Megan but it also just reminds me of her song Movie, which I don't like. I'll give it a few streams but idk if it'll grow on me.

I thought the sentiment was sweet and love how the song is split between the perspective of a child and their parent. I lost my mom in March so the song hits a really raw spot. Catch Me In The Air is a perfect example of why I love Rina Sawayama. She makes a lot of fun music, but fun music with emotional gut punches and lyricism that leaves you thinking about it.

I did! She looked amazing and omg, Plan B MUST be a staple every time she does performances because the way that track sounds live is something else! I loved seeing her and Doja Cat interact, especially when Doja was rapping along to Plan B! Cara whatherface however was just in the way, pissed me off that every time Megan was seen Cara was hanging around her like a weirdo. Otherwise Megan is killing it ✨

Okay so on first listen the song didn't immediately hold me. However, that music video has driven the song as a repetitive earworm for me. I'm absolutely in love with their chemistry and the concept of the video! Megan's personality really shines through when she has a bigger hand in her music videos. I hate horror movies and shit but if Megan were to ever make her own I'd watch it in a heartbeat. At first, I thought the beat was pretty lackluster and nothing special but honestly I think it's a perfect blend for their styles. Saying that as someone who's barely listened to Dua, lol, so maybe I'm wrong but it seems to have the funk her music seems to usually have. Now to wait til these two perform this bop.

Rina's videos always have something interesting going on and I'm really glad that carried over. I think it really elevated the song for me, the contrast of the video and the song itself. I do think they're a beautiful duo too! Would love if they teamed up again for a different kind of song.

I'll be fully honest, this is the first song I've actually really checked out from her. Love the bubblegum futuristic snackathon she's got going on in the video. The instrumental is so fucking smooth. I enjoy how smooth her voice is as well, velvety and clear as fuck. Lizzo or Doja Cat would KILL this, particularly if they omit the rapping. Don't know if it's something I'd return to but that remains to be seen. A solid first impression :).

Did you check out the vma’s? Normani’s “Wild Side” was performed well. She can mooove! I really liked the ending! Chloe’s performance of “Have Mercy” was great; she looks like she workouts. Lil Nas X had a good performance, too. Didn’t know that’s what goes down at Montero State Prison!.. j/k! What do you think of their performances?

I love when Normani reminds everyone she is THAT bitch! Performance of the mf night that's my girl!!! I love the way she dances you can tell she's been doing it her whole life and loves it. Also, that Janet tribute with Teyana Taylor??? Whew! Lol, Chloe was certainly possessed during that performance! Her energy when she's performing is sheerly off the walls, and I think I got used to her performing with Halle and the way their energy synergizes on stage so this performance was really fucking good for her debut, just weird for me to see her solo. Lil Nas loves him some theatrics, that's for sure. I think he still has some work to do on the performing aspect but we love the vibrancy! The fact I didn't care for the song took away points, but Lil Nas did a fun performance. I will reluctantly say Doja Cat did a good job too and it's only reluctantly bc of the fashion she served up during the VMAs took away points for me and I don't care for the songs she performed.

Lol, Megan stays making me listen to artists I wouldn't listen to otherwise, love her though. I actually think it's a really fun song that Megan slides on perfectly, the fact that she's throughout the song is pretty nice. "Get It! Let it! ROLL!" has been stuck in my head for a cool minute. Fucking sucks that her label doesn't appreciate the artist that keeps their lights on smh. BTS really has a strong fanbase though so it was dumb of them to think they could profit off of this in any way lol. She most definitely deserves all the support she's receiving because it's honestly gross how she's mf Megan Thee Stallion but her label wanted to block her from such a successful release because of their own greed. The industry man, smh.

:P Yesss I have been waiting since 2019 for Lizzo to drop more music. Cardi B actually really surprised me with this song! It had taken a bit to warm up to her verse on Wild Side but this was instantaneous and the best verse I've heard from her. I love everything Lizzo has put out and this song is no different. I actually didn't watch the premiere yet but Lizzo's a riot so I know I gotta tune in for that. I'm no expert on music videos but I thought it was cute and the women were all so radiant and gorgeous. If they do a live-action Hercules and Lizzo isn't a muse then what's the point. I think with her drop I've officially finally gotten music from artists I've been waiting on for a long while. So hell yeah, I'm getting a Lizzo album ANd a Normani album in the same year.

There's a video from about 2017 (I think) where she's performing at a venue and the crowd is rapping back her Stalli Freestyle to her. Seeing that the crowd was rapping along to every single song she performed had me smiling and brought me to thinking about that video. She's been a force to reckon with! Always able to leave her crowd fully immersed and keeping with the energy. I can't wait until the day comes where I secure tickets to one of her performances but she's loved here in So Cal so I'd have to keep my fingers crossed.

I love Normani sm watching the video and knowing how far she's come makes me so proud. The song itself was a grower but now I love it, it's so breezy and sleek and her vocals drip with honey. Cardi's verse was the main aspect of the song to let grow on me, but I enjoy it! And the video, whewww! That's some mf star power! Industry Baby is honestly my least favorite Lil Nas song, tbh. Not a fan of it. It's the production that really stands out, and the video is great and typical Lil Nas while also being for a good cause. Not a fan of Jack Harlow though, and I feel like his verse dragged on while not being anything lyrical or outstanding. But it seems to be doing really well, which is good for him! He's definitely a force in the music industry, and so is Normani. So both songs are full of star power and a promise of an exciting future for both of them.

Lol, thank you! I'd recommend Yung Baby Tate, Flo Milli, and Little Simz. YBT has a bombastic attitude and her energy is on a level of colorful flare that would also make a track with her and Rico pretty great. Don't know if you'd know her feature on Ashnikko's song "Stupid". I'd recommend her After The Rain album, it has a good combination of bouncing tracks and more somber cuts. Her song "I Am" from that album also features Flo Milli. Miss Flo has listed Miss Rico as one of her influences, and she definitely sounds a bit like some older Rico cuts. Her phrase is "Flo Milli Shit". I like her voice a lot and I'm always enjoying it when women rap with aggression and energy lol. Her lyricism approach also definitely reminds me of Rico, very fun. I've barely gotten into Little Simz but her talent is insane. I'm a big fan of the messages her material covers and the way she adds in personal experiences and tells stories. Also gotta plug Bree Runway! Rico & Doja type shit from her

It's such a nice vibe and sounds even better listening to it while driving along the beach. It's not often we get a softer Rico so I'm really appreciating it, plus this has been such an underwhelming year for music IMO so I'm glad to see Rico delivering such a breezy track that feels great for the summer.

'cause the song and visuals literally hit at the people who just jump to talk the same shit about her lol while reminding the ones who wanted Tina Snow back just who Tina Snow is and what she stands for. "Hoes tryna call me a snake, shit, I guess I can relate/'Cause a bitch spit a whole lotta venom/And since these hoes all rats, when they come around me/All I see is a whole lotta dinner" I love that line more than I should lol. "I remember hoes used to clap for me happily/Now I'm bossed up and them same hoes mad at me/Acting like they ridin', whole time tryna pass me/Watchin' me go through and still tryna drag me/Actin' like you winnin', if you think about it, actually/Are they supportin' you or really just attackin' me?/I don't give a fuck 'bout a blog tryna bash me/I'm the shit per the Recording Academy" The way she raps this part legit gives me chills. People need to put respect on her pen!

I absolutely left that vid crying dude!!! Like for so long, Megan has kept us waiting for another episode and suddenly we get one out of the blue??/ no notice, no indication that we can anticipate a video soon (particularly bc she's on a break rn and isn't online to hint towards anything) and not only is it such a pleasant surprise it's just one of those things that make you feel so intensely proud. we got full hour documentation of her rise, more or less. and I may have following her since late 2019, which I'm glad for! I remember seeing hot girl summer in my recommendations bc around that time I had started listening to Doja Cat, before her Hot Pink album. and I mainly clicked bc Nicki was on it but I'm glad I did! Seeing how she's grown and conquered and kept her happy spirit alive through shit a lot of people would fold through. I really couldn't help but cry during it. I love how she's surrounded by people who love her and that she's weeded out the ones who did her no good.

Wow, I reached max characters. I just know that her mom, dad, and grandma are so proud of her. I hope she knows that she's making them beyond proud. Haha I went off on a tangent. I'm gonna savor and rewatch this when I can really sit down to enjoy it, not on a lunch break lol. I'm so proud of her though, It really puts into perspective how much of a tremendous rise she's had. Like her come up has been authentic and literally record-breaking. I love her sm and I can't wait to see what she pulls out in years to come.

LOL haven't watched it but heard about his wardrobe malfunction. Lil Nas is versatile as hell and a real risk taker too. To follow up his last single with Sun Goes Down I think is kind of bold but it works because of the contrast of it all. I do think that Sun Goes Down is a nice message but it's a grower. the video is clean as hell.

I have never listened to Lil Baby and I did watch the video, loved the fire and ice themes that were so on point for Megan and her brand. But it's such a short song and Megan's verse is a pretty solid 35 seconds but Idk if it's something I'd return to. Can't say I'm a fan but I should give it a few more spins.

god, this feature run Rico has been on over the last year has just been immaculate. how does she manage to do it each and every time? she just glides so effortlessly on each song and fits right in on all the tracks. I absolutely love her pen game on Do a Bitch like I most definitely wanted a Smack a Bitch line and I got one. Plus the beat is so simple but it's great. SIMP kind of scares me lmaooo like that intro and then the way that girl just goes from sweet voice to screaming. Rico was a nice break in that while also keeping the same energy. always a big fan of Rico's "ewww" adlibs. TUNG TIED is probably the best song overall, but probably because the beat sounds like something Rico would do sololy. overall though Do A Bitch is the best feature here.

I think Elton made a great addition to the song, their voices together are amazing together. I'm a bit disappointed he didn't add anything lyrical to the song but it's honestly such a good rendition I'm inclined to forgive it. However, I want actual new music from Miss Sawayama expeditiously.
