I know! I see people from the US all the time complaining about the lack of gigs. WHERE? They get so many tours. I know the states are pretty far apart and it takes some travelling if a band doesn't come to your state, but the tours are pretty comprehensive.

For me I'd see Exodus, Death Angel, Anthrax and Sabaton. The rest are very meh! Yeah Manchester isn't a great place, it's not the worst I've ever been to but I prefer living away from it haha. Wales is alright, I was talking to a friend the other day about the lack of gigs here though. UK tours rarely include anywhere in Wales, which is so frustrating! Usually the closest place that has a good amount of gigs is Bristol but it's like 2 hours away :/

Of course we can't wait!

Yeah Bloodstock has just been one disappointment after another this year, except for the announcement with Exodus and Death Angel but it's a bit late now! Don't get me wrong, there are some bands I like there but the majority of bands I don't like and it's not worth the travel to get there this year! I would love to live by London for gigs, especially when bands book "European" tours and there's only a London date haha really annoying! Where did you live before Cambridge? I used to live by Manchester before I moved to Wales but sadly I was 18 when I moved, so before that I either had no money for gigs or they were 18+ . There are times when I wish I still lived there because I'd get to more gigs, but really that's the only reason I'd want to live back there haha :P

(Referring to what you'd wrote on Bathory page): They're joking, but not me. Check in my page description, I've posted a link of an article appeared this year on "Sweden Rock Magazine" in which Boss says that is gonna be relase some Bathory unreleased material in June 2014.

Oops, forgot to answer the last part of your post! Nah I don't get to London much at all really. I don't think I've ever been to a gig there actually! I've been to Camden a couple of times but that was when I was younger and didn't have the money for gigs and travel. Not much has changed actually haha!

I don't know how the European festivals do it, they seem to bring out some amazing bands. Mind you, loads of bands tour Europe but never the UK so it makes you wonder what we've done that's so terrible :P Yeah Alcatraz usually has good lineups, I've been twice now and considering this year too, but they haven't announced a headliner yet :/ But they do have Anthrax, Death Angel and Exodus which is pretty good on it's own! I'd love to go to Metalfest, it looks like such a lovely atmosphere, although one of my friends went there on her honeymoon and said sometimes she couldn't watch the bands because it was so hot D:

Cool! Sounds like it was killer. Totally agree with you about Bloodstock, I'm giving it a miss and sticking with Hellfest this year. Might stretch to one or two other festivals if I've got the money and time but I doubt it! The European festivals are looking great compared the UK this year.

Both excellent choices! If i could afford a fest this year i'd consider partysan. I've been to one called Alcatraz Metal Fest for the past few years, amazing little festival in Belgium :)

I missed Master I'm afraid, but I'll be at Desertfest and a few other upcoming gigs. Are you doing any festivals this summer?

Not this year sadly, none of the lineups are grabbing me too much :/ I usually do Bloodstock but I havent been since 2011 :/ Damnation is a maybe though, depending on when more bands are announced :) How about you? :)
