Hi BrokenBricks! We saw that you have a pretty good taste in music and thought that you'd maybe like our music as well. We are three girls from the forests of Sweden and we are going to record our very first album in Woodstock this summer! We would love if you checked out this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmTj6CzmAp4 ! Let us know what you think (it's much appreciated) by commenting the video, and also check out our cover of 'Kathy's Song' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44kjqZUC5PU that we got the chance to play live for Paul Simon! Love, VIDAR

wow, the xx at the merriam theater...i didn't know they were that classy. i saw sufjan on his Illinois tour. He doesn't really have a new album...supporting the BQE, i guess? But he's really good live! Thanks for checking out the article. I really tried to capture the high points even though I can't really. I was also at that Bird/Ra Ra Riot show. Bird was mind blowing. I don't like Ra Ra Riot that much though? At least on their first record, I really wished their vocalist could show more range. I think I want to go to that Phoenix show at the Tower in October. Haven't seen them yet. You should let me know about other shows you want to go to because sometimes I can get an extra free ticket!

(handshake embrace = regular handshake and then putting your other hand on top of theirs. haha) however, i think their new album feels pretty lonely. where did you come from to see them? it was way out in nowhere of philly! and about deadmau5...call me lame, but I'm kinda turned off by how popular he's gotten. i still think random album title is really good and I would love to see him live! any other shows you're really looking forward to soon?

It was absolutely the best show I've ever been to. I never thought anything would top my first (and until now, best) show - Sigur Ros. But that show did. I even saw them play during their Neon Bible tour in Philly, and this was better. Honestly, Spoon were alright but they shoulda played weirder stuff. And then Aracde Fire...I was covering it (here's the package: http://thiskindofmusic.com/archives/968) and was taking pictures the first three songs. I pretended I was leaving to my faraway seat, and ducked into the third row and stayed there the whole time!!!! And I was going crazy, jumping and dancing the whole time haha. I got a half-ripped setlist and got to do a handshake embrace with sarah, the violinist. i told her "thank you so much for playing" and she gave me the biggest smile ever. BEST SHOW EVER.

with most balanced diets there might be a steak day in the back yard on the q. with some wine coolers and good friends with a mild marine layer in the sky with sweet melodies and conversation to set the mood. yeah wtf? moreover no one wants to spend the money cuz they can't most of the time. Yours fits perfect not to worry. Anywho my page is open to you so feel free to drop by and throw pebbles at my window someone's always around, though most of the time I'm never home. I'm sure you'll find some to kick it with most heads from Philadelphia do.

I have yet to see AC! I was supposed to see them at the end of last month but a complete nightmare ensued. I got a phonecall from ticketmaster an hour prior to doors opening telling me that the show had been cancelled. Apparently Avey lost his voice the night before at a show in Chicago but was still trying to somehow do the show, but decided against it during soundcheck (hence the super late cancellation). They were talking about doing the show on that sunday night (concert was originally supposed to be friday), but that wasn't possible. After like 2 weeks of uncertainty of whether it would be rescheduled or if I would get refunded, they set a new date (next thursday). Then TODAY i get a phonecall from ticketmaster saying the show is now this monday. Supposedly this date was made in error by ticketmaster and the show is still thursday. It's just been ridiculous. The show should be awesome though seeing as how they owe us big time. I'll let you know how it was if it finally happens!

Haha, and I assure you, you won't regret it! The way he loops his own performance awestruck me the first time I saw him live; he records snippets of, say, his violin, then loops it to create a more full-bodied sound. Also he has this spinning contraption that makes a whirling noise, and Dosh is simply wonderful on the drums. By far the most talented/innovative musician, at least in indie rock.

When I went to see The Decemberists I stood outside the venue until I cadged a ticket. You could always do that; or even check Craigslist.

Haha, yes ma'am, the affinity is awesome. As for Andrew, I'm so sorry you won't be attending. He's my favorite performer.

It wasn't anything really intentional. I guess I made it a little more serious to really emphasize the 'remember' aspect... not that I think it's their last release or anything.

Animal Collective's tour schedule is really limited for one reason or another. The concert I'm going to is actually their last stop. I'm so thankful to live in LA and never really have to worry about a band not coming through on their tour :D Andrew Bird should be a good concert though, I haven't seen him live. And sorry to hear about your computer, I can only imagine what I would do if I lost all my music.....

Yes, I actually died a little inside when i saw that; you really really need to check them out, like now. They're also an amazing live band as I'm sure you saw. The Animal Collective concert is in a couple weeks....they are also supposed to be outstanding live, so I'm really excited....their new album is great!

One of my past roommates actually introduced me to last.fm (we have super compatibility!) but unfortunately I don't live with him any more. I'm actually stuck going to an Animal Collective concert by myself in a couple weeks (I'm not complaining, believe me!). Speaking of introducing each other to music, it pains me to see you have listened to Of Montreal twice. Do they just not do it for you?

Indeed! I can't even tell you how much my roommate hates listening to my music. I'm pretty sure Animal Collective's "Grass" is his least favorite song ever. I'm actually trying my best to try and listen to more music that would be more appropriate for a party, but even the electronic stuff I like is pretty alienating. Oh well.....
