HEY YOU! Do you agree that the metal flow will never stop?

My suggestions to you on the folkie side would be The Weepies(pretty much their entire discography, but their tune The World Spins Madly On is a great place to start), Good Old War(their first album Only Way To Be Alone is by far their best to date and all of it is pretty gold, but the harmonies on Tell Me are hard to beat... and that's on an album already filled to the brim with great harmonies) and Stornoway(only one album so far Beachcomber's Windowsill, and again it's all pretty much gold, but the song The End Of The Movie is a great place to start)

Also I'll have to check that tune out, I'm already a fan of Okkervil River indirectly. The band Shearwater, which i really like, is comprised of former members of Okkervil River.

For breakbot think unabashedly 80's inspired dance pop mixed with a straight disco beat. Some of his stuff is also just purely techno, as he is by definition just a DJ(he does play the instruments on his samples though, and he plays the bass parts live a lot), but all of it still has at least an underlying 80's dance pop vibe. To date he hasn't released a complete album he just has a handful of his own tunes, and a pretty decent collection of remixes. I did indeed dig it. Not an every day kind of album though, have to be in the mood for that stuff... But I really enjoy the style. It has a minimalist, almost spacey vibe similar to the xx, but with a barrel of experimental/artsy touches tossed in the pot that give it it's own weird, but largely beautiful vibe. I checked some of her other stuff, but as you already hinted it's not quite as good... not bad though. Honestly though, I've been hitting the folk rock/pop pretty hard lately, so this doesn't quite hit the spot for the moment. I definitely liked it enough to know that at a future date it will. Ever listen to Breakbot?

1. I really liked fun.'s first album quite a bit more, but the title track on the new one is pretty awesome. I an see where you're coming from on the new hip hop styled bass and drum samples. I liked it well enough, but it isn't fun. to me anymore. 2. I ain't heard no Grimes, and I'm in a bit of a music drought, so I'll definitely check and see if it'll satiate my needs any. 3. Yes, yes we do. It's been forever man.

Hah right on. Yeah I think you'll dig Beirut, musically it's quite a lot like the band devotchka, but with vocals similar to the dude from franz ferdinand.

I really dig the new one, the others i picked up less so. But camp is pretty legit. In the mean time though, i hate how much i love the newish bon iver album... I was on the negative side of indifferent to their first album, and enjoyed smirking when people told me how amazing they were... but now, while amazing isn't nearly the word that comes to mind, i have to fully admit, i loves this album.

Well I've checked it out. There were a small handful of songs i legit liked. and the rest was pure meh. I did like a lot of chad's stuff though. As far as i'm concerned anymore anthony ruins everything. Flea was a bit disappointing, when john left before for one hot minute, flea kicked it in to overdrive for that album, but this time around i feel he's more subdued than ever. The new kid did fine, and i liked that he at least did some falcetto background vocals to fill john's void... but since by the way john has been my favorite part of the band, by a mile, so his absence is a little too blatant.

Haven't checked it out yet, but my expectations are limited, to say he least. John was my favorite part of their music for the last decade or so, so without him my interest is low... plus after hearing the single i was even more put off... that having been said i'm sure i'll get to it soonish. What'd you think?
