Stories went around that Elvis "let" Johnny hear "Maybelline"... then Johnny recorded it before Elvis, and that Elvis was "upset". In the music business we say "so what"...? Chuck Berry wrote and recorded it BEFORE either of them. With Chuck's permission anybody could record any of his songs. So, lots of what we read is media hype...sensationalism...that's about it.

Johnny makes every song he sings his very own. He doesn't "cover" any other artist...he "interprets" the songwriter's composition in his own inimitable way...which in effect makes all songs he sings "unique."

Last.Fm is a great platform. I hear fabulous music that l had never heard, or had forgotten.

Somebody once told me..."anybody can place songs and be heard on Internet... The real test is making it onto radio charts !!" I had a taste of that only once, a fairly successful song....charted on radio in 27 countries. Great feeling.

Connie Francis...an outstanding voice...great songs...

Gene Vincent...second to none...probably the essential Rocker sound...smooth...natural...

Matt Monro...right up there with the best crooners...

Swinging Blue Jeans....just as good a sound as The Beatles.....very similar...

Petula Clark...one of the iconic Brit singers... "Downtown"...awesome song...

Gene Vincent...in the top 10 of the rock era...

All music is special to each generation, but man...50's Rock....the most.....the ultimate....

Gerry & The Pacemakers...remeniscent of Herman's Hermits...

Janitor & Dan rivaled The Beach Boys...outstanding !!

I like many types of music...Country...Folk...American Root, Hillbilly, But the ultimate for me is Rock'n'Roll.....
