I only learned how to make listenable stuff with them out of necessity but it turned out to be quite enjoyable, I must say :) ..especially if I extract them from songs myself, that's when it's the most fun.. though it's a long and arduous process.

Due to the nature of my machinery, I only used a very simple bass generator, or recently bass sampled from a certain RATM song. I guess Octopus has got nice bass synths.

Hey man! Long time no see. How's it going? Just listened to your song, and it's got promise. The synths are cool, keep practicing with them, and basically just have fun and experiment with everything music-related in order to get to *your* sound. Bump me when you upload something new. And me, I'm always working on new stuff. In recent months my pc's been broken and I've been working on a very weak machine, which can't support synths and all those awesome generators, so I've had to practice working on samples, and the end result is not bad. And yeah, I think I'll upload two albums' worth of music quite soon, one from before and one from after the crash. I'll notify you when I do that if you want.

Nice stuff man, there are some really nice details with those two songs, though I can suggest you to extend your search for some drumkits, I'm pretty sure I heard some FL drums in there, and my brain is sick of those, since I've been using them for a long time :D ; other than that, I like, and keep up with the mix of beats and melodies and ambient.
