My recommendation of the day is A.R Kane. Two piece dream pop group that put out music in the 80s and early 90s. I'm new to them, but I'm happy I found their music. It's glorious :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't hear them all but Dakh Daughters were certainly...entertaining. I watched some of their performance at the Euromaidan on youtube and I'm glad they support the cause. I honestly wasn't sure about this poster initially but it seemed pro-Ukrainian, am I mistaken? I will take it down immediately otherwise. I figured out that it was of "President" Yanukovych and have been trying to catch up with the events going on over there. I saw a "discussion" on RT last night but got sick listening to them say it's entirely geo-political. Stay safe and know that people around the world support you and care what happens to your country (my mother's homeland.)

Surely there's gotta be a Ukrainian underground(?) As for my avatar, I took a photo of this and a bunch of other modern posters at The Ukrainian Museum in NYC...on my way to the exhibit of 1920's propaganda the Russians used. Tragic stuff, really.

Hey, thanks for the friend request. We've got "super" music compatibility, are there any Ukrainian bands you think I might like based on my charts? I've come across some that are somewhat listenable but they're so polished and poppy. I butcher what little I know of the Ukrainian language, so it's much more about the sound for me....kinda like Sigur Ros, where it doesn't matter if I understand the lyrics.

I don't remember how I got to your page, or why - one of the many tabs open on my computer - but I notice the last comment says "Deerhunter - Providence". Not sure if that was a response to something, or a recommendation. But I will go one further and say, not just Providence, go ahead and get the entire album "Cryptograms" and start playing from Providence forward. That'd be a good starting point. Happy trip!
