It is indeed an unmatched experience when you are able to hear, feel, and understand the passion and intent musicians have behind their music. David Gold was a shining example of that in his music for Woods of Ypres. You could feel his sorrow, and his unmatched love for the nature around him. It is an unfortunate situation, however, when this creativity ultimately reflects their strife, and we lose these musicians to this strife. May David, and all other musicians that we have lost, be truly appreciated for that music which they create from the darkness and cold around them.

The message you left me had impeccable timing. I was able to go to your profile and see you were listening to a band I had not heard of before - Windir. It is amazing how, even after ten years of metal searching, I still find bands that I should have been listening to all along. It is unfortunate Windir is split up.
