When I was 2 years old I used to refuse to go to bed until my parents had played me some Genesis! I knew how to work the CD player as long as the CD was in the player too, just incase they forgot! My first ambition in life was to be a 'megastar', but actually I think I just wanted to be Phil Collins when I was 5 :P

Of course, I know Riverside. They're pretty good. I just think they're a bit derivative at times. They sound like Porcupine Tree a bit too much, but, still very good band.

I love both prog and metal music. Opeth and Tool are certainly my 2 favorite metal bands out there, because they do also have a prog influence. Opeth is now probably more a prog band than a metal band anyway.. I'm also a big Peter Gabriel-era Genesis fan. Although I do also like Steve Hackett's solo albums. Gentle Giant is great too! Well, there are thousands of great bands to discover. Just need to take time to explore all of this great prog music world :) Take care!

Have you ever seen The Musical Box (the tribute band)? Sure, it's not Genesis, but they're really amazing.

WHOA, you, sir, are one crazy Genesis fan. :> and we seem to share that somewhat strange penchant for Paramore... cheers!

Thank you for speaking some sense on the Genesis page. I get so beyond sick of the bitching on the page. I literally only check it once every few months and every single time I do there's some sort of moaning about how Phil is the most vile thing ever or about how perfect the Gabriel era was or about how the Gabriel era was so boring. Is it not possible according to some people to like BOTH eras? I somehow pull it off!!

Hi Marcus, Here is my latest original piece. It is a hybrid sonatina; a mix of blues and classical in 3 movements. The overall title is "Chicago in Vienna". First movement http://www.last.fm/music/David+Tisdell/Piano+Fusions/Chicago+in+Vienna+-+Pinetop+and+Wolfgang Second Movement http://www.last.fm/music/David+Tisdell/Piano+Fusions/Chicago+In+Vienna+-+Muddy+and+Muzio Third Movement http://www.last.fm/music/David+Tisdell/Piano+Fusions/Chicago+In+Viernna+-+Buddy+and+Papa+Haydn Youtube links are enabled on the last.fm pages. I had some issues with the last.fm streaming and download. Hoping to have that fixed soon.

That could be quite good, but I think the band as a whole suffered from only having Rutherford and Banks of the "original" group. The chemistry they had from working with Collins was lost, and the chemistry between bassist and drummer is arguably the most important in a band's dynamic. It's a real shame that Collins's back is damaged such that he can no longer drum, it would have been fantastic to have Hackett, Gabriel, Collins, Rutherford and Banks back for a Lamb Lies Down Tour one last time. Oh well.

I find the album Wilson sang on quite dull if I'm honest with you, but recordings of him singing PC/PG era songs are brilliant. I really like his versions of Jesus He Knows Me, No Son of Mine and Carpet Crawlers.

Hell yeah. Love the band. I listened to them so much that I sort of stopped for a while, then I listened to their albums again while playing some Dreamcast.
