Msg 2: Try this one out dude: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f2eYC7xeno Pretty much exactly like WitTR, but damn fine BM if you'd ask me. The madness starts around the 4.19 mark, and the transition from doomish BM to blastbeats is so typically WitTR/AoP, but it's good enough to stand on its own.

I wasn't even planning on listening to it, haha. Lost my interest in them quite a while ago but I saw you listened to a new track. Aerials is the cover.

Oh yes, Johnny Cash vocals of course. I knew they sounded similar to something. And have you heard the SoaD cover by Amon Amarth? Quite wtf-ish.

I'm genuinly enjoying Gospel Haunted. :) Awesome album. And Austere broke up a while ago, but the guys are both in this band called Woods of Desolation. Their new album that leaked a while ago sounds exactly like Austere. Worth a try.

Haha, Hoegaarden is indeed good. So are Palm, Grimbergen and Leffe, and many others. ;) Disintergration is good, but it's a bit too long to listen to it in one take sometimes. I saw TPB in your charts, but didn't know them. That song sounds fun, you should compare it with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA6P6ErY4mk :) Will check that TPB album out soon.

Hey yeah, I'm back for awhile now. I love that country. Nice looking villages, cool people and good beer, haha. What else do you want? ;) And The Cure is pretty much my favorite band at the moment. My favorite album is probably The Head on the Door (some really really great tracks on there). Also Disintergration and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me are great because they have a good balance of fun and more melancholic songs. I also like Seventeen Seconds a lot (especially M and A Forest) but overall the early albums are a bit boring imo.

Haha nice, I saw some stuff of that Dornenreich dvd with a bassplayer and it was awesome. I'm not in a (black) metal mood at all lately though, more 70s/80s new wave/post-punk and electronic stuff, kinda weird but I'll get back to normal habits I guess. I'm now for a week in Belgium which is awesome (especially the beer and food). :)

Well, at least ID and Helrunar are good. Endstille sucks yes, can't stand them. Most overrated piece of crap in BM history, haha. :D Do you know Electric Wizard btw? Think you do, but awesome stoner doom. The new album is cool. :)

Yeah I'm afraid I would get extremely addicted to it as well (which will happen, I'm easily addicted to those kind of things), resulting in me being online 24/7 and have it in my hands all the time. Don't want that honestly, so I still have a crappy old phone which actually works for me. :) And honestly I think CA is very overrated, here they seem to be loved by every BM-fan, which I can't stand already. Also the 'symphonies' and the theatratical (?) aspect bothers me a bit. I just like that one interlude/song cause of the lyrics. :P

Ah, an Iphone, nice. I still need to get myself a smartphone, but I'm a lazy and poor bum. :( I pre-ordered the Agalloch with shirt, should be good (also received the new DsO a few days back. :)). I actually don't mind the repetive parts, but I honestly don't really have favorite songs yet. I like Black Lake and To Drown a lot, but both can indeed get a bit boring cause of slow-moving and inactive parts. The album as a whole works for me though, and should be great sleeping material once again. :P Btw, Al Betekent het Mijn Dood from Carach Angren is funny if you speak Dutch "Godverdomme, ik zal varen. Al betekent het mijn dood", means something like: "Goddamnit, I will sail. Even if it means my dead", haha. I love the cursing part. :P

Bleh, iTunes. :P i've been using foobar2000 for a long time, works really fine for me. You can adjust basically everything to your own tastes and it hardly ever fails.

Ah yes, Angst Kvadron uses some similar style-riffing sometimes. Well, the new album is different from the rest, but it does share the technical features of Fas - ... and Kenose. If you like the new one I think the Kenose EP is your best bet. If you like that one as well you can always try Fas and Si Monumentum (but I thought you already had those right?).

First song I liked was Falling Snow but I heard the Mantle before that. Never got into it until I got into AAtG properly. Needless to say it's one of my favorite bands ever now. :) And Baptism is pretty much the only CC song I like (can't help it, I love screaming girls in music :P), many of my hipster friends worship them, haha. And saw you listening to Árstíðir lífsins, will check it out. Looked interesting and I do enjoy Drautran. :) Ever listened to Electric Wizard btw? Got the new album for a friend and it's actually rather awesome.

Yeah I love the DSBM shrieks too. And Agalloch never really clicked at the first few listens. Needed a good 10 spins to get into the band in general, haha. I'm sure the new album will click just fine at some point. Probably going to buy it soon with the new DsO. :)

Haha, good. Music is important. :) And new Agalloch sounds very good. Production sounded a bit strange at first but it's growing. It sounds more natural and organic which fits their music of course. Music is good as always, and loving the blasts and more aggressive parts. :) You?

Ah, like that. Do you know Spotify? It's free and they have quite the nice library. Also useful if you wanna try an album out without spending time downloading it (nifty for lazy asses like me. ^^). Hope you will enjoy my radio, haha. Might find some new bands. What study are you going to do again? Haha, gamenerd. :P Sounds like fun though. I just started with my study (last thursday). A master called new media and digital culture, so that includes social media like last.fm and facebook. I hope it's fun. :) And I shall see what I can do with the group, looks good that I am one of the leaders. :D

That's indeed kinda true, but if you don't go to too many pagan shows there's no need to worry haha. And Astra (US) have an album released, called The Weirding. People told me it's rather Floyd influenced so I figured you would like it. :P I actually enjoy that album too, and they played for free in my hometown a while ago, really good gig. :)

Haha, the party was awesome. Brought my own wodka and had a little afterparty at a friends place and I woke up at 13.30. :D Sooo hungover, haha. And yes, D666 means Deströyer 666. And I know, folk metal attracts lots of young people, cause it's very easy music to get into. Sucks, I usually don't like children at concerts for the same reasons. :P Also, it are usually the typical alto/goth kiddies, and while I was one of them a long time ago, they suck. :P

Oh and message two: was thinking about Heidenfest as well, mainly for Twilight of the Gods but since they will only play Viking-era Bathory songs I'll pass for it. I wouldn't wanted to miss it if they played more from the first 3 or 4 albums.

Yeah, looking forward to Watain as well. I liked the new album too, a lot better then Scorn to the Dark which is boring. Already saw D666, and it was awesome so that will be a good night. Already got tickets. :) Just found out Anaal Nathrakh plays in Holland the day before that gig, so I don't think I can go. =/ I scrobble more then ever, since I only meet up with friends at work and at night when there's something fun. Tonight partytent at my parents hometown, haha. It's a shitty hypocrite christian farmer place, so should be fun with us heathens there. It's over at 12.30 cause of the loudness, haha. :D And no enter is indeed quite annoying, but can't do much about it I'm afraid.

Haha nice. I'm nowhere near a regular smoker either, more an occasion-smoker. :) It's nice for certain activities, but don't want to get addicted or anything. Although I'm usually more intro hardcore grind than deathgrind, I bet it's still awesome live. Lots of pits and headbanging I assume. I really need to let my hair grow a bit again for that, since I have some headbanging concerts coming up (Watain/D666 mainly :D). AN live should be so awesome as well, haha. Think my neck would hurt like crazy the next day. ^^

Sucks about the coffeeshop. Can't remember I ever had stuff from Amsterdam, even though I think I have. I was pretty drunk already so I didn;t care. Hipsterparty sounds like fun. ^^ I bet grind is good live, never really saw it. Saw some crust things though in a small leftish venue here, was pretty intense as well. Anaal only played once in Holland, but on a big 7 day festival and a day-ticket was like 40 euros while the other bands weren't interesting at all. :(

Sounds totally awesome man, I need to go on holiday again next year. What did you do in Amsterdam? And thanks, working my ass off atm, but it's rather hard. Good thing it's about Last.fm, haha I'm such a geek. :P That festival looks cool btw, folk+grind? Lol. Also noticed you're going to Meh Suff where Anaal Nathrakh will play. Jealous, especially since you don't care (or do you?). :(

`Hey man, sounds awesome, haha. How long was your wild time? :P I had one wild week here: http://www.last.fm/festival/1247397+Festival+de-Affaire , lots of afterparties as well in the city and got drunk basically 7 nights in a row, definitely need some recovery after that as well, but I had to work on the monday after it again. Now I'm working again, but this time on my bachelor thesis that I have to finish pretty much this week. A bit stressed, but I think I can make it. :) And yes, a little BM again. Listened nothing but BM this weekend, so now I need a little variation again. ;) But what's up, how have you been?

Haha yeah, geez I wonder why every country has a rivalry with Germany. :D Study sounds cool, vague though. Gotta love vague studies. I never know how to explain what I actually do. :P A bit hard to say what you have to do. Of course the city has its hotspots, but I don't know the place too well. Also depends on what you want to do of course.

EternalDawn
Yeah exactly. The WC and EC are much more fun because all of a sudden everybody is into it and so far the atmosphere here is really good because "we" beat Brazil, losers. :P Swiss team won from Spain though, who are one of the last four contenders. There's always a huge rivalry (especially in football) between Holland and Germany, so that would be my dream scenario. Going to watch it at a pub with many German and Dutch people I hope. Looking forward to that, if it will happen. :) Working sure does sucks, I have a rather lame typical summer job, but it pays. Party hard is always good. Had an awesome weekend, too bad I don't have time outside the weekends to party. Only a few Thursdays maybe. What study are you going to do?
Actions
-
EternalDawn
Good. :) I only go to one free festival in my hometown this year, just like last year I need the rest of the summer to work. Need money to pay my study etc. And watching football is fun. Not a huge fan but the WC is awesome. Saw many games and Holland is in the half final. I really want Holland - Germany as final, and we have to win of course. :P But usually it was just another excuse to drink beer in the noon, haha. Sadly I have to work from 5 to 10, 5 days a week so I can't see too much now. Good comparisation btw, haven't heard Darkestrah in a long time, good stuff though. Much more in a electro mood lately. It's the weather. :P

Open airs sound good. And football? As in playing yourself or getting yourself drunk while watching the WC? :D And well, in all honesty, I just started working again and I haven't been much in a BM mood lately. Weather is way too nice for it. :P The only 'recent' things I can remember are the new Njiqahdda and A Forest of Stars (think you already got those). Maybe the new Csejthe and Castevet, but I've yet to hear those. And Dødsengel is good, discovered them a while ago. Have you ever heard Celeste? http://denovali.com/celeste/

It was a nice surprise indeed. Wasn't too fond of Scorn to the Dark but I liked the first two albums. New one was again too long, but a step uo from SttD for sure. And yay for MGMT, debut is a lot better though imo. :) Perfect music if you're in the mood for cute indie.

Haha that's true. Just checked their MA page and apparently they released 4565 eps this year already. :P Not the biggest Forest of Stars fan either, but it's pretty good imo. New album is way too long though. =/ And Baroness' vocals don't even bother me honestly, while I usually dislike that kind of vocals as well. A Horse Called Golgotha is such a great song. You might like the last Kylesa as well, even though it's a tad more core (don't let that scare you :P) and less prog.

Just got back, was rather fantastic. The free festival was outside, and it was raining a bit but the people and the overal sphere (and most of the music) was awesome, had a good time there. Had to bike to the venue for WitTR through the rain, 30 minutes but it was worth it. Sound could've been better but still a good gig. :)

The Devil's Blood for example, but you already know them. Favorite comparable band is Blood Ceremony, fantastic album. Listening to Lucifer Was now, great band as well. Coven is cool stuff, but not retro cause it's actually from the 60s. :D Black Mountain sounds promising too. Still rather new to it, need to explore this stuff a bit more.
