That would be phenomenal; I hope I can make it down there. It's quite a far way away for me, but I have been working on getting the time off work and such. What will you be doing states-side?!

when I was in high school, I was obsessed with the Silver Jews... I had almost completely forgot about them. I thank you endlessly for reminding me! :)

Yeah, I prefer that one too; just a little tricky to play on my own, live! If there're enough people who want it, the next one'll be a CD; and a much more coherent collection of songs too. Interestingly, I might be about to be dragooned into being the vocalist in a punk band. Could be some 'interesting' songs emerging out of that.

Mmm, I do like that second one. I like to think of us as more like the kills though. I mean, we're nothing like the kills, but I like to think of us as like the kills. It seems my latest song is my very own little Get Lonely http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4ZtF9yfWbQ - but don't let it worry you, everything's peachy! I also haven't thanked you from the bottom of my heart for purchasing my first album yet; consider yourself thanked. I feel slightly embarrassed that immediately after releasing it into the wild I started writing far better songs. Gulp.

Er, yes... kind of. I didn't mean to scrobble it! Jamie did a cover, and I - in sinister and clandestine fashion - recorded my own vocals and tambourine over the top. I like it.

ha! that would have been amazing. i ended up being able to unload them on craigslist, and the couple who took them were huge fans and very appreciative, so I was happy that they went to the "right" people. did you get to see them when they toured on your side of the ocean? by the way, not sure if you saw it, but i did record and post the philadelphia pavement show. if you're interested and didn't catch the link the first time around, just drop me a line. i see you're going to be catching cftpa... i'm hoping to catch him on his farewell tour. maybe i'll be able to talk him into relearning "destroy the evidence" and playing it for me on this tour!

I'm so glad! It really is a tremendous document, and we're lucky to have it. And oh God, "How I Left the Ministry" on the new Lens album - well worth the LONG, long wait.

Mmmm... bootleg recordings.... It was too good. It shouldn't have been that good. It annoyed me that they were that good, as it means I should have seen them before (and I didn't particularly enjoy Wolf Parade on Wednesday, as I was too busy remembering how good the Mountain Goats were).

Boo! Such distractions should work the other way! I let gigs and fanboism distract me from sorting out uni stuff... I do hate you. A lot. I'm twitching with annoyance and envy/rage.... Pretty effing good doesn't cover it. Amazing show. Wonderful banter, wonderful performance. I'm currently in the process of working how many more albums of theirs I can afford....

Also, I thoroughly recommend The New Pornographers and Iron & Wine. I've got good albums by Wilco, Yo La Tengo and Black Mountain as well. Jonquil will be worth seeing if they don't clash with anyone, and Timber Timbre.... DAMN IT! WANT TO GO!

And get Apologies to the Queen Mary. That's the best Wolf Parade album I've heard.

Um... initially because I didn't think I'd be able to get the time off work. Now, because tickets are gone. Can you get hold of one for me and an easy way to sort travel/sleep?

I'm surprised you like it. I thought you would find horribly retro and disgusting, I know how you won't go near casettes, it's digital music all the way for you.

Loving it. Absolutely loving it. 'Lets go for a walk now, lets go for a drive, don't know how to say thanks for being alive'

Mid-April! Very excited about this, but sad to be missing out on Glastonbury (highlight of my summer, usually). I see that you are planning to see Pavement 3 times in May, eh? Big fan? ;)

Mmmm.... Mclusky.... As a warning though, don't ever see Future of the Left. I went to see them because of how much I enjoyed 'The difference between you and me is that I am not on fire' and I found them so shocking I actually left early. Huge disappointment.

Thank you. And you can only claim credit for the Mountain Goats! I listened to the others there before your influence started bearing down on me! And it doesn't mention Modest Mouse to me.... mentions Talking Heads instead.

Also.... have you noticed that the Mountain Goats have been climbing up my various lastfm charts. I'm struggling to not listen to this album...

Well it was only for last night, and because you were seeing Modest Mouse. And I wasn't. *sulks*
