Yeah, and I have observed the same. The ones who haven't heard of them are unfortunate, indeed. But then again...Karnivool is far from mainstream, imho. That is what makes their music different. It's raw, it's honest and kind of philosophical (Asymmetry).

I think it's not just the bands, the crowd seems rather uninformed too. For me, majority of he Bombay crows seems like they wanna be a part of it, cause they like screaming slogans, moshing and jumping around. In essence, they wanna party, but the metal way. While there is nothing wrong with that, their lack of information about genres and such gets to the bands who take advantage of this and cater to their taste. There are several really good musicians in Bombay but most of them and their bands play utter generic boring crap.

Haha, I never really cared for what kind of a band out country needs, I just like it or I don't. I couldn't care less about what is needed or not :D If I like a band, I go watch them, buy their CDs, even t shirts if I like the art, if I don't like em, I usually criticize them like a bitch

I was never a DR fan, and I never really liked anything they put out. But, this album is far better than everything that I've ever heard from them. That being said, I'm not gonna listen to it again :P
