Lol, ASC is my Skype contact. He's a mutual friend. I'm going to check out your recommendations. I haven't been caught up with anything new in the past year or so. But check out Kangding Ray - History of Obscurity. Incredible piece.

Oh man that's crazy. Sorry I rarely scrobble stuff anymore so I don't log on much to Last.fm - I do remember based off your name! I have ASC's album and his newest one. I spoke with him through Skype. He's working on a new album inspired by Space/Planets. Last year we used Spotify to listen to music all day at work, it's a great little tool man. Listened to any new albums lately? what's good out there?

ah, ok, thanks for the info. i would be more interested in using it to find out about literature i wouldn't otherwise know about - i.e. not from people i actually know - if they read, we talk about books and don't need a website :)

You judged my taste perfectly for about 4 months ago :P i havn't don't worry! I am a massive ASC fan... love it! Different, original, and you don't forget it! I find with most dnb you just forget about the tunes about a month after the release cos they are not different or memorable enough. But do not worry I have deffo not given up =)

thank you man, it's refreshing to get stuff recommended. For the longest time it seemed like I was the one doing the honors for others, now I'll get right on it. Try the new Swarms album "Old Raves End" also, I don't know how big you are on IDM, but this is an old favorite of mine and I've actually been listening to this album again heavily for the past two weeks. Check out Lusine's "Serial Hodgepodge" if our taste compatability is any indication of good taste, then you'll dig this album

so I'm listening to Sabre's "A Wandering Journal", the first disc and I'm in awe. Thanks for this recommendation, the soundscapes on this are right up my sonic alley! Lovin it. "Follow Polaris" is sick!

dude, respect - I've heard of Sabre I think, the name is familiar. I think I heard it on like a compilation, might have been Commix's FabricLive. 44 which is BOMB! I found the album! gonna check it out. I have a recommendation for you. Get Tycho's "Coastal Brake" Single it's too good. Also you may as well check out Lusine's stuff if you're into IDM based beats. He's so good - here's one to start you off, it's actually a bit more "house" for him than usual, but it's good nonetheless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_GKUE0tWCA

Yeah man, he and I are very musically similar. Nice to see you're into minimal, and your top tracks are D-Bridge and Waldeck. I rediscovered Waldeck last night, his album the Night Garden, absolutely awesome dub-flecked downtempo. D-Bridge is great, I love the outro, Mana's Lament, I think although it's short it's my favourite. And Mr. Malcontent is a really good track too. Do you like his other recent releases - Lost Shadow and Memory Park? And what do you make of his Fabric with Instra:mental?

what you probably don't know, or haven't noticed is that site you linked me to (I'm familiar with it :D) is actually Tycho's site. He's a graphic designer. It's all his work. I'll listen to your recommendation, trust me. I don't know if you're familiar with ASC - maybe you are, if you heard Fabriclive 50. That is actually how I discovered him myself, through Instra:mental and dBridge.. I started getting into his stuff this past summer and really love his stuff. Check out his albums The Astral Traveller, and Nothing Is Certain - here's one of my favorite tunes off of that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-eCDTFWcfU (3 minute mark is GOLD)

Lol my bad I didn't look at the charts to double check. I was going by the main connections. Well, again, I haven't double checked.. but do you know Tycho? check him out. He's got an album Past is Prologue, it's really beautiful. Like Boards of Canada's long lost brother. Here's a tune off of that see if it grabs you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qvv1C3InlOM also check out Tycho's "Coastal Brake" EP, there's 4 tunes on that, 3 of which are remixes that are on par with each other. It's soooo goood

No man, I haven't heard it yet, but I definitely will man - if someone recommends something I get on it eventually. Not sure if you've heard Instra:mental - maybe you have maybe not. But do try them. One of my favorite producers, there's not a track, that I at least remember that I heard which sucked. Also if you liked Kryptic Minds enough so that you'd listen to their sound again.. you might want to try Distance. Here's an example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MafltHJELpc

I haven't checked them out yet, but I promise you I will - I'm a man of my word. I've just been doing a lot of homework from university so my full attention was on that. well looking at taste and charts.. I'd highly recommend Kryptic Minds. Also check out Youngsta's Rinse FM show on thursdays.. you can download podcasts. Here's the most recent one. http://relay.exequo.org/rinsefm/podcast/Youngsta160910.mp3

love discovering new music man. Thanks for those - I've already heard of some of krill.minima - but that was like a year ago but I remember ambient music. I'm getting on them again. I think you'll appreciate Sabi http://www.last.fm/music/Sabi/Free+Tracks check out "Uki Reflection" as the first tune - and if that grabs your attention listen to the rest.

I heard Clarendon, don't remember how it sounds as it's been close to a year now since I heard it. I had that whole FabricLive.44 phase when it was released. I looped the album for a good few months - just an all around quality release. Introduced me to a lot of names such as Breakage, Instra:mental, etc.. now I can't go a day without listening to something by those producers. I am listening to Cooper right now, and you're so right...this is an amazing tune. Just beautiful, took me just a few seconds to "feel" how great it is. Perfect for visualizing.
