In short, post-synthwave is an evolution of a synthwave artist's style. It incorporates the more complex, deep sounds from genres loosely related to synthwave while still maintaining an artist's roots. As of writing, it most notably applies to Perturbator, who no longer associates his new works with the feel of the 80s, rather broadening his use of black metal and industrial via experimentation.
