An experimental genre that grew out of 1990s French industrial hardcore. Characterized by abstract sounds, extremely complex avant-garde structures, and wandering soundscapes, flashcore is commonly mixed with electronic genres such as speedcore, IDM, breakcore, glitch, and also infused itself with noise and ambient music.
