FestaBang began together with FESTA 2007 in Slovakia. FESTA is an event organized by the salesian family every 3 or 4 years. The coreteam of FESTA asked Vava (Veronika Sumbalová) to come up with a new band, which could play and sing on the happening in Poprad. The only requirement was - the band should be formed by people from whole Slovakia.

So Vava and Ovečka (Katka Beníkovská) went to find the best singers in salesian centres all over Slovakia. They formed a band with about 40 singers and 10 band members. There were such artists like Adrem, Mária Čírová, Žižo, Peter Šulek,Martin Šulek and many more. All the singers and band members met for the first time only one day before the concert. But they managed to do a great job!

Why they are called FestaBang? The original name was FestaChoir for the singers and FestaBang for the band. But the organizators made a mistake in the presence list, so they called them FestaBang and since that, they use this name.

The original plan was to finish with FESTA, but as the popularity of FestaBang growed, they decided to continue. They won the comptetion Lumen Newcomer 2008 and played on Lumen, which is the biggest festival of christian music in Slovakia and also in Middle Europe. In the same year Delirious? played.

FestaBang sings partly interpretations by MaryMary, Kuul&The Gang, Albino Montisci and others, but mostly songs by their own members: the Festa Hymna by Marfuska and Pešo, Hymnus by Žižo, Všetko, čo mi chýba by Miloš and others. So it's a wide range of music - rock, pop, hip-hop, gospel, rap, folk …
