You must be quite new to Last.fm, otherwise you'd know that tag abuse has been a problem ever since users were allowed to tag artists, albums, and tracks. Complaining won't do much, as the staff can't and won't do anything about it. Just get yourself the LastfmMassTagger and tag the songs correctly: https://sourceforge.net/projects/lastfmmasstag/

The tags work like a voting system. If a pop song from Taylor Swift gets a lot of "deathgrind" tags from users, it will appear here.

In pure grindcore, death metal influence was merely optional or second-order at best. I see deathgrind as a balanced mix of death metal and grindcore ingredients, best represented with bands like Blood, 2nd full-length era Carcass, perhaps Nuclear Death. The genre is quite diverse since various features of death metal and grindcore can be combined in different ways. Some bands tend to be more grind- or death metal oriented, so there is a kind of blurry 'grey zone', just like in case of crossover thrash.

Grindcore matured into a stand-alone genre faster than death metal. In 1987 death metal was still a genre 'under construction', even Death's SBG was 50/50 death and thrash. At the same time there were Napalm Death, Repulsion, Unseen Terror, who already played grindcore proper. Grindcore can be seen as a derivative of early British crust punk (except for Repulsion, who came to the same idea via different way, being inspired directly by UK82 punk and crossover thrash). So it was under the metal influence, but it was thrash and early extreme metal in the first place (Slayer, Celtic Frost, etc), not death metal as such. But death metal was important for goregrind subgenre.

I haven't heard any good deathgrind since insect warfare, If anyone knows of any bands with a similar attitude let me know. There were a couple of bands when I was growing up that played a similar style but I can't find any of their stuff, they were - Blowtorch Abortion, Death by deep-throat and Death fucking cunt.
