Apache is the collective term for several culturally related groups of Native Americans in the USA. Originally, they are from the South-west. Their language are called Apachean, which are a Southern Athabaskan language.
The modern term Apache excludes the related Navajo people. The present-day Apache peoples include the Chiricahua of the Arizona-New Mexico border area, the Western Apache of Arizona, the Lipan Apache of south-western Texas, the Jicarilla and Mescalero of New Mexico, and the Plains Apache of Oklahoma.
