I do not recall this information!! Yeah, a friend bought me a ticket in the end, so there I was :D What a setlist! Yep, Om 10/5 & Mono 23/6, both @HiFi. Om are something I think you have to sink into slowly - their last 2 releases (God Is Good and Advaitic Songs) are what's getting me at the moment, but they really don't have a lot of material so you can listen to it all in a fairly short space of time. You do know that if you abandon Australia for NZ we won't let you back in, right? Lifetime ban! Think long and hard Moran...

You didn't tell me you were going to Tool, you sneaky bugger. How good was it?! So many people are saying it was the best one they'd been to :D So that Cherryrock gig is on Sunday, but I'm thinking I might do the individual Unida/Truckfighters instead as there's no great difference in cost (and I don't much feel like getting completely mashed on a Sunday) ;) How's things anyway, any great plans taking shape in respect of work or travels??

Having yourself a little Friday night Lanegan party I see ;) What's your favourite song? Yeah, I'd say so - last time he topped up his solo stuff with Gravedigger, Grey Goes Black, Phantasmagoria & St Lois, as well as a few Trees covers. Although you'd also have to consider the last Ding Dong gigs were only about 6 months ago, so he may do something completely left-of-field... Don't much like having my picture taken (nor does he, I believe) so I'll pass on the photo op, but will happily assist you in your endeavour :)

I know, how good is it - I was pretty down about losing out on gigs when I moved back from London, but it's totally kicked ass so far!! Lanegan is the biggest surprise packet, he just can't stay away... There's been a bug going around work this week & I went down with it today, so no MBV tonight - ticket was given to me, so no real loss. Heard they were pretty rubbish @ATP anyway. Kind of glad to have an excuse to stay in this weekend - hit the tunes, redeem some sleep credits, save $$$. I'll see you on the other side! Text me on Tuesday :)

I'd recommend starting in chronological order... so that'd be Red, Blue and then Yellow/Green. Judging by what you listen to I'm guessing their early stuff will be more up you're alley but it's all great stuff. They've more or superceded Mastodon at this stage, especially given how disappointing The Hunter was... but that's just me

Touché - I fear you're getting to know me a little too well! They're one of the few bands who actually sound brilliant in an arena style environment, so even though the words 'Rod Laver', 'Ticketek' and 'One-hundred and thirty-five dollars' make me want to kill myself, I may have to buy myself a little Valentines Day present from MJK :)

Well, I think the t'shirt incident is clearly karma for bragging about meeting Brant Bjork. Respect, nevertheless - where was that? Yeah, Dax Riggs is a massive legend, probably my favourite vocal after Lanegan - although he's definitely an acquired taste so I'll be interested to see if you get into it or not. One of those musicians who is measured purely by his passion rather than perfection. Acid Bath's ..Kite String.. was my first metal purchase in '97: my mum kept throwing it out and I kept buying it again. It was a thing we had :) And a Happy Oz Day to you too lovely (even if you are an imposter)! I'm pleased to say I've had a total sloth day @home listening to music, cooking, hanging in the garden...much needed! About to fire up the bbq and crack a bottle of whiskey :)

Nooo, IT SOLD OUT BEFORE I COULD GET TICKETS, but cheers for reiterating how awesome it was, haha. Spewing I still haven't seen Gojira in their own right. Whoa, you missed Kyuss for Bendigo? You deserve a statue of your likeness in the town square in recognition of such extreme sacrifice. I caught them in London a matter of hours after returning from an Amsterdam weekender...and it was pretty rough - I was covered in spit and piss and beer before Kyuss had even come on. And I'm very much looking forward to repeating the experience!!

My lastfm account only goes back to when I moved to London in 07 (which was actually when I first bought a computer & had internet...old school!) - the 10 years before that I was pretty fucking straight-up hardcore. My heart still lays in grunge, stoner & metal but I mostly listen to singer-songwriter or older, classic stuff these days. As far as live music is concerned though, I'm still up for anything and everything, anywhere and any time. It's what makes my world go round. I think now that the kids are back into rock, gigs are selling out much faster. I nearly put myself through a window when Mastodon/Gojira sold out last year before I got around to getting tickets. Although having said that, I can't believe Kyuss & Opeth are still available. Madness.

Man, they're just one of those bands I was really into - there's still so much comfort in that familiar drone. Just read something that said 'Second and definitely final show...' which is pretty blatant. I guess Palace has something else on after it. Tickets are tough to come by! There are a lot of people after them - I think I can settle with living vicariously through you ;)

Ha, I love Spotify's 'Do you mean...'s' (what can I say, I'm easily amused). All good now, I got you :) What would you say your favourite album was from last year? Frozen Planet looks amazing, you shouldn't have told me!! What do you do when you come down for gigs, just crash at mates' places or something? Can't beat a good jump around at the Espy, not enough bands play there. Have fun in Radelaide - the city itself is pretty dull but if you get out to the coast/mountains/winery trails it's beautiful...

I just felt like a change of scenery really - was based in London/Stratford-Upon-Avon for 5 years, but have been back in Melbourne since end of 2011. I love many other cities, but this is always home - we've got it pretty sweet down here! Have never been up the top end, was it awesome? It's the next trip I'm planning :) Sick Of It All @ Espy will be a ripper! Not sure about Spotify, should be fine...I'd only just done it so maybe try it again?

Yeah, I generally prefer to hit a couple of headline gigs rather than part with the cash for stuff like Soundwave & BDO (unless it's a particularly epic line-up). Reckon I'll probably settle for Puscifer if APC doesn't materialise. I spent quite a bit of time in Ireland when I lived in the UK - always had an absolute blast. Way better than England! You're right about a roof though - think I actually cried at one point during my first visit I was that cold and wet!! You've certainly made a transition - how do you go in the heat?! Apparently I already had a Spotify account - always one step ahead of myself :) My username's butterflymind22.

Haha, wow, you must've been bad! Love Ireland, such a pity it's suffering economically (that's what happens when I move back to Australia and stop drinking all the Guinness!!) Seems to be on the look up but I guess it'll take a while. Melbs is good for gigs, but man am I poor: am holding out for potential APC sideshow and then will have to put a lid on it for this month, or not pay my rent! I haven't got an Oz Spotify account - didn't realise it was supported here now. I'll have to get on that, cheers! :)

Yeah, it's great to keep an open mind, music intelligence is a cool quality to have. Hell yes I got my Kyuss ticket!! Have seen them a couple of times in London, but it's always extra special to see them in your home town so I'm pretty excited too! Am assuming once they've wrapped up Kyuss Lives! we might get some new stuff... So you're not from Oz, where did you come over from?

Life in Bulgaria is like in some kind of endless surrealistic movie, hard to explain or understand.......Glad you're enjoying your life in Australia. Thanks for the recommendations. I know Doomriders and Torche, haven't listened much though. Will have to catch up on that. Also heard of Aleph Null, very good things. New Old Man Gloom? *puts everything on the list*. Think US Christmas will appeal to you and I adore Los Natas, you should really check them out!!!! Also the more sludgey other band of Sergio Ch - Ararat. I see I've mentioned Undersmile before, but their new album is brilliant, highly recommended http://undersmile.bandcamp.com/.

Hey, good to hear from you!!!! How is everything down there? Guilty of not checking many new artists lately but new High on Fire, Snail, Ice Dragon, Arc of Ascent and Sons of Otis are awesome. I think you may dig Serious Beak and La Mar. You'll do me a favour if you check Cultura Tres. Now is your turn?:)

Ha, cheers man. Wait till you hear a song of ours called 'The Flood' then. It's like 'Drought' if it was played by Neurosis and Mastodon at the same time! Loving being in this band, writing like I've never written before. Some gigs lined up in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Oshkosh and hopefully even Chicago by the end of the year. Who'da thought ten years ago I'd be lining up gigs in Chicago for my post-rock band haha. Loving the new avatar pic by the way. Classic poster! DJs Lamb Blanquette and Herb Gnocchi.
