Even though my first exposure to Moonsorrow was VKKM, which puts anything else at an extreme disadvantage in terms of insurmountable expectations, this song managed to impress me.

Another amazing Burzum reference, the synth tone from Dunkelheit/Burzum appears here (correct me if I am wrong but that synth really reminds me of Burzum). Loved.

This is an absolutely amazing song. One of my top 10 favorites ever for sure. I also quite like the fact that they made it obvious that this track was hugely inspired by Burzum, considering that Burzum means "darkness" and the name of this song translates to "darkness" in Finnish ;)

The whole song is just so damn beautiful. It's still pretty the much the best thing they have ever done.

@soothingtrance You're right. Moonsorrow is calling that the "Burzum Synth" also. They used it in Hävitetty and VKKM, too.

Some years ago I've listened to much more folk metal than nowadays, but everytime I return to this masterpiece, have to recognize that this is still one of the best songs ever made. Have someone recognized the Dunkelheit like synth (around 5:30)?

The chorus on this song is one of the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. And those screams...

I'm convinced that this is Moonsorrow's best song. It showcases everything Moonsorrow does best. If you are introducing this band to someone, show them this song
