Extraordinary sax playing, love how smoothly Trane plays over those chord changes.

I love it when versions of jazz tunes go on past the time it says they take up on the Last.fm player!

I have this unnamed version with a stringed instrument (I reckon it's a guitar) playing the lead, 7:19 in length. Wish I knew the author of the interpretation.

When composing this tune Coltrane maybe was inspired by a chapter of the book "Mysticism of sound and music" - the chapter is titled "Impressions" - the book is wrtten by Hazrat Inayat Khan - Sufi master

I'v read all the Coltrane liner ntoes and what they say about what Coltrane "was trying to do/ trying to accomplish." But when I listen to the music, it is Tyner that is most in line with that description. My vote for all-time greatest may be cast.

I've only heard the version off the album for which it is the title track, but holy crap. This is amazing. Coltrane is fantastic.
