I saw a lot of people complaining about the second half and that the prologue of this song is better in MtM; I think exactly the opposite. I personally think the prologue to the FtF version is much deeper, in fact the prologue to this song from the FtF version is easily one of my favorite parts of the entire album

Earlier in the song Will used the term "galvanistic". Galvanism is the concept... the obsolete scientific theory that there is a kind of electricity flowing through our bloodstreams and that was our life force. Will used the term because he came across it in Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley. And that book is sort of an exploration of the theme of creating a character, or making up a person. So Will used the term "galvanistic" to allude to that book, as a sort of symbol of how he, like, created ME as a character, and he's pretending that he knows a lot more about ME than he actually does. And also to refer to the fact that he's fallen in love with the characters I'VE created in, uh, MY body of work... this is the part of the song where Will starts to regret writing it

I'm going to scrobble one Car Seat Headrest song, and I didn't want to pick one of the top songs, so I've chosen this one off its title.

I actually listened to TWO songs. This one was good, and then right when I was about to switch to something else, Bodys started and I thought that one was even better.

Everybody always love the mirror to mirror version of this song because of the monologue but the monologue on ftf is one of the most mind altering amazing beautiful things I’ve ever heard. I would be a different man if it weren’t for this song

mtm wins points for being iconic, but i agree that the ftf monologue is absolutely superior. it's pure poetry.

Earlier in the song I used the term "scrobble," and last.fm is the website, uh, the obsolete last.fm theory that there is a kind of electricity flowing through our shoutboxes, and that was our life force. I used the term because I came across it in, uh, car seat headrest's, uh, shoutbox, and that book is sort of an exploration of the theme of creating a profile, of making up a scrobbler. So I used the term "scrobble" to allude to that shoutbox as a sort of a symbol of how I, like, created you as a scrobbler. I'm pretending that I know a lot more about your listening habits than I actually do, and also to refer to the fact that I've fall—fallen in love with the songs you've scrobbled in, uh, your profile. This is the part of the song where I start to regret scrobbling it
