VVH made his first recording's under the name Vincent Van Hire using tape loops, home made electronics, early synthesizers and guitar effects around 1979 inspired largely by the Punk / New Wave 'do it yourself' ethos, early space rock and Brian Eno's ambient music. Around 1981 under the name V. Van Hire VVH joined the Black Dwarf Label and appeared live, on tape and record at various times with the Unkommuniti.
