Biography
Swar is a Nepali indie/alternative/pop-rock band formed in 2021, initially starting out as a group of four passionate musicians—Swapnil Sharma (vocals), Rohit Shakya (guitar), Suramya Sthapit (bass guitar), and Gautam Tandukar (drums). The band began recording their first three tracks, 'Sansaar,' 'Aparivasit,' and 'Bistarai,' before solidifying their identity with the release of their debut music video for 'Aparivasit' on April 5, 2022.
Following Suramya’s departure, the band continued as a trio, focusing on creating original music and engaging with their growing audience through recordings and YouTube. In November 2024, Swar took their music to the stage for the first time, marking the beginning of a new chapter. With the recruitment of Siddhant Gurung (bass guitar), Santosh Tamang (keyboard), and other key roles including Ramesh Magar (sound engineer), Sajjan Jugjali (Scree/Lights), and Rupesh Sen (band manager), Swar's lineup was finally complete.
