Introduction

Stan Rams is an autodidact artist whose art and music have been published on lots of sites and communities as f.e. You Tube, My space, Facebook, Hyves and other networks and last but not least at Last Fm.

Stan Rams was born on 7 september 1958 in the city of Heerlen, Limburg, The Netherlands as the youngest of 5 of a musical familly.

Influences

Stan Rams father Constant Rams loved to play al kinds of instruments such as flute, hobo, accordion,saxophone, french horn, organ, piano, harmonium, clarinet, and he was 25 years a member of the Limburgian Harmony "St Cicicilea".He also
was a well known church organist performing mainly J.S Bach and so his brother Leo Rams, a high talented pianist who turned out to be a virtuos church-organist as well.

Musical Familly

Stan Rams was born on 7 september 1958 in the city of Heerlen, Limburg, The Netherlands as the youngest of 5. With lots of instruments in the house such as 2 piano's ,a church organ, a hobo,a clarinet, a flute, a saxophone, an arsenal of harmonica's, a superb handmade gypsy accordion , electric and akoustic guitars, a "Pearl" drumset and a piccolo, there was nothing to complain for a musician except for some neighbours who seem to have had problems more than offen caused by Stan Rams organ, bas- and drum-solos performing evergreens and songs as "La Bamba" in the basement "studio" of the house.

70s

During the 70 tees Stans mother sang in "The Chamber Choir" which inspired Stan to sing gospels as a junior tenor in F. Piepers "Glory singers" gospelband,
famous at that time giving concerts in lots of churches worldwide . After a year Stan stepped out the choir to explore the world as a singer- gitarist in amature pop- and rockbands performing music he composed himself.

CD "L' amour de la Luna"

In 2009 Stan composed the CD "L' amour de la luna" with the piano instrumental "Maria Rosa", a musical ode to Mother Mary inspiring to world peace, classical inspired meditations, dances( hobo, clarinet, violins, french horns, flute and piano)
All tracks were recorded at his home-studio and performed on a Casio WK piano-keyboard mostly at night.

Using fotosoftware the artist placed his paintings imaginary in the Dutch "Stedelijk Museum" which gives a quit realistic impression of how a real Rams exhibition in this famous museum would look like.

Organising music festivals and fairs

Well known as an initiator and organiser of festivals such as the "P&P festival des Artistes" , to promote amature bands which was held in "The Kegelpaleis" in Heerlen, Stan has been contributing to lots of social and cultural organisations as f.e. for more than 25 years as a musician at "Kerst Inn", an x-mast festival for the homeless and everyone who likes to celebrate together, The "Toon Hermans Huis" that helps people who suffer from cancer and their relatives, "Missionair Centrum Heerlen" which helps refugees and people from all over the world and "Interart", an intercultural poetry art and music project for refugees.

Painting and composing

Living on an isolated historical farmhouse "Hoeve de Baak" at the edge of the city Heerlen ,Stan started painting in 1999 and created a portefolio of songs, poems and paintings in lots of styles and tegniques.

Virtual Exhibition 2010

Using fotosoftware the artist put his paintings imaginary in the Dutch "Stedelijk Museum" which gives a quit realistic impression of how a real Rams exhibition in this famous museum would look like. As as practical joke he framed fotos of Barrack Obama and his wife visiting the museum and there are more exceptional fotos to be inspired with such as the "Lady Liberty trio" , "Stonehenge reorganized" and some rare fotos of the queen of the netherlands presented as "Beamoslima, queen of the united emirates of the Netherlands" wearing a Bourka , inspired by the Dutch Multicultural and national discussions about mass immigration and the "Islamisation" of The Netherlands.

Resuming

Stan Rams is hard to place in a certain area or group since he is active in a wide range of styles and tegniques but can be described as an autodidact multi performer talent in the fascinating world of arts.
