From 1999 to 2003 the Brighton 5 piece known as Scuttle released a demo, 2 split singles, 3 CDEP's (Through Firefly Recordings, home of Kids Near Water, The Copperpot Journals etc) had a few comp appearances, toured the UK and France a whole bunch with the likes of Elliott, Planes Mistaken For Stars, the Movielife, Grade, Thursday, Hundred Reasons, Lost Prophets, Shelter, Down By Law, Funeral For a Friend, Hell Is For Heros, AFI, The Juliana Theory, Sergio Vega, Jonah Matranga, Second Rate, Garrison then split up when their disillusionment with the UK scene became too much to bare. They along with peers such as FFAF, Hell Is For Heros and Hundred Reasons pioneered the sound of UK post hardcore indie rock.
