There are at least two bands named Mooncoin.
1) Mooncoin were a European Folk band based in East Anglia, in the East of England. The band was formed in 1993/94 and played their last gig in January 2008.
The band consisted of a total of five members: Chris Schwabe (Vocals, Whistles, Melodeon, Flute and Percussion), Mike Naldrett (Fiddle), Bev Nichols (Guitar), Paul Keeler (Percussion, Bouzouki and Fiddle) and Cesar Camba (Guitar).
Their music blends a mix of folk from across Europe, including influences from Britain, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, France and Spain.
The band released four CDs: 'Eclipse' (1998), 'A Fathomless Sea' (2000), 'Spinndrift' (2003) and finally 'Janus' (2008).
Following the breakup of the band, Keeler was working as a sound engineer in Norwich, Naldrett as a senior scientist at the John Innes Centre (Norwich), and Nichols as a land management and conservation advisor for Nature England.
2) Mooncoin were Mickey Zekley and Michael Hubbert. They played a mix of Irish and English music. Both have continued to teach music at Lark Camp in Mendocino, CA.
