m@ is a synesthete and an insomniac, which they cite as two of their biggest influences.
Their music usually promotes the love and care of animals (particularly cats, which often take on a divine stature in their music) and an absurdist outlook on life and art.
As a result of the influences and values involved, much of the music carries a particularly unusual aesthetic, and consequently is often misconstrued as being comedy.
