In september-06, Michael and Leif met at a local demostudio. They started to talk about music and their influences. Leif had a tune which he started to play on the guitar and Michael felt that this was something he could relate to and the tune sounded just like his own ideas. In twenty minutes they had the idea on tape and then they tried to find some lyrics that was apropiate to the motion and feeling of the tune.
It was time for Yvonne to enter the stage. Yvonne had poems which she had written long ago. She wrote them when she was in different modes. The poems was about life generally, but the main part was according to things she had gone trough in life. The lyrics is very emotional and personal. Yvonne is one of the members in the band.
They added some of the lyrics and all of it seemed to fit together in a good way. And that is still what they are doing - finding new ideas - turning them into songs - recording and having a lot of fun in the studio.
Leif Thörner is one of the members of the band Loveflowers. He started his music career at early age. At this time, his brother made his own bassguitar at school and when Leif saw this piece of ”art”, a growing feeling started inside towards his interest of music.
Since then he had played with numerous constellations of bands and whichs involves lots of different styles as rock, blues, jazz, funk etc. At the age of seventeen he was asked to enjoy the swedish band ”The Shakers”. He was in and stayed for about two years, playing the bassguitar.
A coverband called ”Hip Cats” was another band he enjoyed to play, but he moved to Vastervik and had to quit because of the distance to his old town. He met new musicians and he was therefore into new constellations of bands.
Leif plays all the guitars, bass, harmonica on the debutalbum. He´s also doing all the vocals, arrangements and he is one of the producers of the album ”Love-flowers”
Michael Greiffe is the other member of the band. He has been playing drums and percussion since he was twelve. Most of the time, the bands he was into played their own music and they made a lot of demos, trying to get attention at the local musicscene. He has also played a lot of covers in several bands. But it doesn´t had all that Michael was looking for.
It wasn´t until a band called Julia, a record deal was signed and the wheels started to move. He was now into a band that really was getting serious about the music. Julia did a lot of gigs and were seen on national tv, radio and other venues. They had an audience who were faithful and felt strong about their music. About one year after the release of their album ”Salvatore”, the members of Julia decided to go their own mysterious ways.
Michael plays the drums, percussion, doing all the arrangements and also plays organ on a tune. He is the other producer of the album ”Loveflowers”.
