Initially teased in a TikTok with the text “unreleased jxdn” (which was one of many hints that he would return to using “jxdn” as his artist name) and caption "Stray", this song shows jxdn’s deftones influence peeking in. This song was later played in a tik tok live teasing multiple songs that will be featured on the next album, “WHEN THE MUSIC STOPS”.
It’s the first song Jaden created after he had made 40 Pop/Trap style songs during summer 2023 (all of those will probably never be released), and he felt like he needed to go back to his roots.
Jaden told via Allison Hagendorf that STRAY is about “The idea of being in a relationship with your job, friends, or a girl, or a boy, and you just feel like a stray dog. Yeah, they’re taking care of you, but you’re just a stray.”
As well that it is his favorite song he’s made so far. “If you’re going to listen to a song of the album, lsiten to STRAY first, every time.”
