Originally teased on his TikTok (@jadenhossler) in 2019, “Comatose” marks the beginning of Jadn’s venture into the professional music scene. The song details a devastating breakup that left Jadn in a severe state of loathing his ex.
After the song’s official release, the track exploded in popularity, especially on TikTok where Jadn used his following to promote the song.
"I went through a really gnarly breakup my senior year of high school Basically, I was depressed for the longest time because of a bunch of different stuff, not just her. And I realized how much pain I went through after I went through it. And so I was sittin' in the studio and obviously heartbreak is a very easy thing to write about for music. And it just started hitting me. And one of my writers were there and I was like “My heart just felt numb.” Like, I remember there was a time where I just felt so numb and literally nothing could make me anything, or better, or worse. And my writer named Rachel was like, “Comatose.” And I was like, “Comatose?” And she was like, “It’s a synonym for numb.” And I was like, “Okay! Bet. Let’s run it.” And so we did."
