Biography
i met you in a campfire is changing. This bio is old and hopefully, it will be updated soon.
i met you in a campfire is the project of Mikki Christiansen from Copenhagen, Denmark. The music is centered around him and his love for post-rock, although he is influenced by a lot of other genres and not-music things; everyday sounds, different state of minds, hungovers and late nights, to name a few. Toying around with sounds, general expressions and impressions, he is able to paint musical landscapes which covers both the ugly and the beautiful.
In november 2010, after a long time of fiddling around with fractures of tracks, he decided to release the album called ISLANDS, which is a 22 minutes long journey into a lonely, yet comforting world with marching and jazzy drums, sparkling guitars and pumping bass. It starts with blasting drums and ends with blasting drums. Kind of like a 22-minute vacation.
The album, or what someone might call an EP, was released as a download and in physical copies, which is now no longer available. The physical copies were all handmade; cut, glued, printed and burned all by Mikki himself. 60 physical copies sold… It is still available for download, though, at www.imetyouinacampfire.bandcamp.com
Other than a pretty amount of sold copies, ISLANDS was reviewed in the danish music magazine GAFFA; as demo of the month with 5 out of 6 stars. It was also reviewed by the danish music-site Underlyd with a satisfactorily 71% out of 100%.
Now, i met you in a campfire is playing concerts in the Copenhagen area with a 4-piece band, consisting of Mikki himself on guitar, Morten Bernstorf Hansen also on guitar, Ravnur Huginsson Eide on bass/keys and Andreas Bütow Pröll on drums.
