Cuffed, a US band, presents a dark mixture of synth pop, gothic and dark wave with their latest song "Deceiver". From the first sounds it is clear that no happy summer hit can be expected here. The atmosphere is oppressive and immediately immerses the listener in a mysterious mood.
The musical composition of "Deceiver" falls back on almost classic dark wave and gothic sounds, which reinforce the gloomy atmosphere of the song. The vocals fit perfectly into the overall picture and give the song a mysterious and deep note. Especially the chorus stands out and invites to a slow but intense dance. This reveals the true nature of the song and the band's intentions to offer listeners an intense sound experience.
However, it is noticeable that "Deceiver" sounds a little less electronic compared to its predecessor "Possessed". This may be a disappointment for some listeners who had hoped for a stronger focus on electronic elements from Cuffed. Nevertheless, there is a remarkable moment in the song, namely the super electronic bridge, which again adds electronic variety and energy to the song.
