Biography
Brighton based Electronic, Indie Rock - duo CMD/CTRL, aka Andy Robinson (Xenomania) & Matt Rose (Monuments, Qemists) formed after a chance meeting at a party in 2014. Unapologetically fusing big beats and trashy baselines combined with an inspired influence of British 90s Indie. They found early success collaborating with ‘Dirtyphonics’ for their ‘Write Your Future’ EP which came out on Steve Aioki’s Dimmak label in 2015, which later led to them to work with Bass Music heavyweight ‘Excison’ for the single ‘Again & Again’.
Soon after signing with Just Isn’t Music (British Indie Label legends Ninja Tune Publishing arm), CMD/CTRL started honing their sound which is comparable to Primal Scream, Chemical Brothers, Kasabian and Oasis. In 2017, CMD/CTRL gained recognition with tracks like ‘Rebel Sound’ which was used in the Snatch TV series and gained them ‘sync of the week’ in Music Week magazine. Other hard hitting tracks like 'Machinist' and 'Dirty Jobs' were also picked up by Adidas and Nintendo and showcases their distinctively in-your-face, gritty sound.
