Kind of a letdown, no wonder why I was hesitant about listening to this. I listened to it yesterday for the first time. There are times where I sense I'm not gonna like an album and then skip it, but then curiosity gets the best of me. I only listened to tracks 1-8. I will get back to it. Something is a bit off with this album. Maybe I'll like tracks 9-17 more when I get back to it.

They managed to make about 7 albums without a single bad song so they could release the worst piece of garbage in music existence and I'd still love them - but this is an objectively brilliant album for people that are supposed to be drained out and past their creative dead end

Their best since eponymous LP (2003). "One more time" (track 5) - tearjerker of the year.

Are the titles in all caps because us boomers can't read screens so well anymore?

My friend told me to turn it off after 4 songs, but from what I got to hear, it was okay, I feel like it would sound better live though, the drums sounded lacking, I couldn't hear the bass (I blame my speakers for that though) and either their voices haven't aged well or they applied some effect after to it which just made it feel like a high school cover band, especially in the opening track. (Please don't firebomb my house last.fm users)

probably their best album since S/T or Neighbourhoods. Love Nine and California tho.

Man, the production is really terrible overrall. However, it doesn't stop this from being a solid album that seamlessly weaves together multiple eras of the band in a tasteful way, from Box Car Racer to the Skiba/Feldmann era. A couple of duds here and there but also some great songs.

It wouldn't be a Blink album if the production wasn't ass. Decent comeback and fun album though!

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is one of the best produced albums in my opinion. Neighborhoods sounds fantastic as well.

Untitled sounds a bit muffled which was probably intended though. Nothing can compete with Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, at least in the blink-182 catalogue.

Wrong, TOYPAJ and Enema of the State are two of the best produced and best sounding rock albums of all time.

Ambitious songwriting, but it's quite stressful to listen to the whole thing since it's SO over-produced. The Auto-tune is probably needed but I don't get the over-compressed drums. Is a natural sounding drum kit too much to ask for? 🥺 Overall, it feels very artificial but I love all the musical references to their own catalogue and over time, this record will grow on me more and more.

It's all the more irritating as the producer is the drummer. Does Travis not like the natural sound of drums?

Not in terms of over-compressed and over-produced crap. There's a world of difference between the kind of mess you hear on Cheshire Cat versus this.

well yes, because now you can produce for cheaper using digitized automation tools and cheaper will never be "=" better.

alright but as a professional when you actually know what you're doing, today's digital tools also make it a lot easier and quicker to make a good sounding clean mix so...
