Before Zebra Dots made it their own, pop music hadn’t sounded so refreshing for a very long time. Their infectious pop vintage is an answer to the current art scene that unites what seems to be ununitable. Zebra Dots’ music combines elements of jazz, ethnic music, hip hop, funk, fusion, electro, soul, and pop into an incredibly tasty and organic sound.
The story of Zebra Dots began in 2010, when the paths of an internationally recognized beat master Koolade and an acknowledged drummer Ivo Rimc met in a studio. After several encounters the radar spotted two other dots named Jernej Kržič (bass) and Erik Marenče (keyboards). Their dedication to the music, the shared ideas and of course, the necessary chemistry between them, united the musicians in a spontaneous collaboration.
“Many people want to know why we called ourselves Zebra Dots and not, for example, Zebra Stripes” says Koolade, the singer and the producer of the group. “The answer is quite logical. It’s a synonym for our music. Zebra Dots is something new, something that doesn’t exist yet and that came into existence with our group. It’s our spontaneous path, our friendship and a unique creative process. All that mirrors in the melody, lyrics and of course, in the live performances.”
Zebra Dots’ quality and uniqueness were recognized by the international record company Universal Music, the hippest musical family on the international musical scene. The company that unites stars such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Robbie Williams, Black Eyed Peas and many others, will make sure that Zebra Dots’ music becomes available worldwide.
Their first single Walking on a chance will be released on Friday, October 5th. It’s an ecstatic and energetic hit that not only follows but also suggests the latest trends in pop music.
