Jason Howell was born in Boise, Idaho where he spent his childhood playing in a number of punk and industrial bands as well as performing at local venues. He played bass for the Boise punk outfit Freak in a Jar, and released two albums and a 7" during that time.
He also experimented with four track recordings, amassing a gigantic collection of demo material. He named all of this solo work Yellowgold. His writing is strongly influenced by the guitar work of Justin Broadrick of Godflesh, and the shoegaze outfit Slowdive.
Jason released a new album after a successful Kickstarter Campaign to the backers. It was released to the public on May 17th, 2018. The new album is called "Fever Dreamer".
