Biography
The folk/pop/rock collective Wool and Howl has evolved and devolved since its beginning in 2010. Now as a drum/guitar duo with up to 6 guests, Wool and Howl presses on releasing a special new project; two contrasting EPs entitled the Howl and Wool Project.
The EPs are a presentation of Wool and Howl’s contrasting nature and demonstrates the strengths and challenges of an ever-changing and adapting beast. Howl, recorded in the high-tech Metal Works Institute, is a short collection of electric rock and eerie electronic pieces. Wool, on the other hand was recorded at the lower-tech basement Slaughterhouse Studio. It is an acoustic projection of the warmer/softer/folkier elements of the band’s material. The project has been over 2 years in the making and has enjoyed the collaboration of a multitude of musicians, artists and producers. The aim of the Howl and Wool EP experience is to explore the collective’s interest in contrast: Organic vs. Manufactured | Imagined vs. Reality | Wild vs. Ruled | Child vs. World.
To be released fall 2012.
