Biography
Where Is Donnie? is an indie-rock solo project by Ákos Sümegi.
Ákos was born in 1987 in Hungary, where he has been living and working ever since. He was part of the first wave of Hungarian indie-rock which such bands as The Secrets, freshmilkdrinkers, Superego, and Panic Radio.
His music has been influenced by Chris Cornell, Queen, Joy Division, The Cure, Horrors, Placebo, Muse, Klaxons, and Soviet Soviet.
He plays all the instruments on the recordings, including guitar, bass, vocals and background vocals, percussion, keyboards and folk instruments.
He records with Hungary's best indie sound engineer and good friend Szabolcs Puha at Record Low Studio (formerly StrayDog Studio).
Ákos jokingly remarks that anyone who has ever released a record plays the guitar better than him - but really, anyone who has ever held a guitar.
